Chloë Sevigny is a very busy woman these days.
Not only does she play the shopaholic daughter of a polygamist cult leader on the HBO hit
Big Love, but she has also launched a clothing line with New York City boutique Opening Ceremony, fronts the fragrance campaign of French fashion house Chloe, and is the new "style adviser" at Elle UK.
Well, now she can add
Uniqlo model to her rather long fashion resume.
Uniqlo's UT Project -- which stands for Uniqlo T-shirt -- features designs created by artists, designers, musicians and photographers. To date, there are over 1000 different designs that exist and new ones are added each season. For the next installment, that will hit stores in April, Uniqlo is resurrecting the art of
Keith Haring and
Jean-Michel Basquiat. The brand is reproducing their art under a licensing agreement with the artists' estates.
There will be about a dozen different designs from each artist, with prices starting at a reasonable $15.50.
According to
WWD, Uniqlo chose Chloë Sevigny to appear in the women's ad campaign for UT Project, and Tadanobu Asano, a young Japanese film star, for the men's.
With that, I can't help but remember a quote Chloe once gave about her current status as a fashion icon: "For some reason the public has embraced me as a fashion icon, and I feel like it has diminished me as an actress, or I don't get as much recognition as an actress, and that upsets me"
Money talks, no?
