McCartneys and Yoko Ono Support Meat Free Monday

We've all heard of celebrities being vegetarians for ethical and/or health reasons, but the latest star push for the veggie lifestyle centers around climate change.

Yoko Ono and Paul McCartney (along with his daughters Mary and Stella) have come together in support of Meat Free Monday, a U.K.-based organization encouraging people to reduce meat consumption in order to cut carbon emissions.

According to Meat Free Monday, "The UK's Food Climate Research Network suggests that farm to fork is responsible for between 20-30 percent of global green house gas emissions. Livestock production is responsible for around half of these emissions."

To kick off the initiative, Ono and the McCartneys walked the event-appropriate green carpet at Inn The Park in London today (June 15).

The Skinny Bitches Love Their Jeans

skinny bitchWhether you agree with their lifestyle or not, the authors of the best-selling book, Skinny Bitch, have made a real impact. They've come out with a number of books promoting the benefits of becoming a vegan, and, most recently, they've released a couple of "Skinny Bitch Fitness" DVDs. We had a chance to sit down and talk to them, and while we touched on diet and fitness (of course), we also chatted about fashion.

Will Leona Lewis start her own fashion line?

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Is pop star Leona Lewis, aka PETA's most sexy vegetarian, about to get her own Topshop line? British rag The Sun reports that Leona and Fashion Svengali Sir Phillip Green have a dinner scheduled, as soon as he gets back from his trip to Ibiza with Kate Moss.

Since she's young and beautiful, and he's old and rich, this can mean only one thing. They're collaborating on a new clothing line. (What did you think we meant?)

The notorious Kate is Sir Phillip's current celebrity designer cash cow, but she can't stay young forever. Leona's staggering success in the U.K. and the U.S., plus her broad appeal make her a very marketable choice.

Let's see: popular and pretty celebrity, trendy clothes, inexpensive price points...we're going out on a limb and predict this will make buckets of money for Sir Phillip, and one hopes for Leona. Oh, yes, and as The Sun points out, Simon Cowell, too.

Tip of the day: Eat yourself beautiful

Filed under: Skin Care, Style Tip of the Day

Okay that sounded weird. What we mean is, sometimes the things you eat are reflected in your outward appearance.

Example 1. If you eat greasy pizza religiously, you face probably looks, well, like a pepperoni.

Example 2. If you eat fresh fruit like it's your job, your face probably looks juicy and fresh.

Got it? Good. Now, let's check in with Dr. Steph to see what foods will make your hair, nails, teeth, and teeth shine.

Tip of the day: Start using Ojon... like right now.

Filed under: Men, Hair Care, Cosmetics, Skin Care, Celebrities with Style, Style Tip of the Day

We have never been so smitten with a product before than Ojon's Restorative Treatment. We love, love, love this product. We've tried countless hair treatments and have raided the local Sephora far too many times but this... this stuff is the real deal.

We first heard about Ojon when our silly obsession with Gisele Bunchen's long mane brought us to the word. "Gisele uses Ojon. Must learn more." Apparently a little tribe in Central America called the Miskito Indians has been harvesting the fruits of the tree that bears the Ojon oil for centuries. When the tribe was discovered one of the first things noted was their stunning hair and skin. We mean, well... hot damn, just check out that kid's hair in the picture!

Still not convinced? Here are some more reasons you should totally give this stuff a whirl.

Tip of the day: You are what you eat

Filed under: Style Tip of the Day

Juicy! There is no denying the truth behind the phrase, "You are what you eat." A perfect example is the huge zit you always get after housing a greasy pizza. You can also put a positive spin on the saying and change the way you eat for good.

Summer is the best time to kick start better eating habits for your skin, hair, body, and even your mind. There is so much juicy fruit and yummy grilled chicken around that it's easier to say no to macaroni salad and the ice cream man.

Alicia Silverstone goes naked for PETA

Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

Alicia Silverstone has always been an outspoken advocate for animal rights. The actress, who is best known for her role as Cher in the film Clueless, will soon appear in print and television ads for the animal rights group PETA wearing nothing but "her ideals". In the PETA PSA, Silverstone talks about the benefits of a meat-free lifestyle as she emerges from the pool in her birthday suit. See it here.

Sounds like a pretty convincing ad, doesn't it? I guess -- more so if it was, like, 1993!

So come on, PETA, I know you're better off than most leftist causes when it comes to creative marketing strategies, but couldn't you have at least tried to get Josh Hartnett?
