Rihanna has never had a problem taking chances with fashion, that's for sure. She definitely leans toward extremes -- she's either strapped into skintight patent leather and latex or in full, ruffled gowns. Her red carpet arrival look for this year's American Music Awards definitely falls into the latter (although, for her performance, she went the other way. Of course.).

On lasts night's episode of Project Runway, the designers had to create chic outfits that the American Olympic team could proudly strut in during the opening ceremony. Unfortunately, though, it appears that none of them have ever caught a vintage Youtube clip of the ceremony before.

If you're like Scarlett Johansson, you're willing to experiment with make up and nail polish. You're not scared to try something new, like this white polish, in fact you prefer it to the boringly black or conservative french tips. Are you ready to make a Scarlett-like statement? Alright so you want to wear a white suit. Phhhooo, this is a toughie. White suits often make a man appear like he thinks his ish don't stink. You know the type: majestic yet totally tacky, sexy yet a complete ago maniac, cool yet far from innocent. The bastards. Studs like P.Diddy and David Beckham are prime white suit candidates. And didn't Al Capone and Scarface wear them too? As you see it takes a heck of a man to rock this right.

So if you think you've got the stuff to pull a white suit off here are a few more rules to follow to make sure you're the dapperest don in the room.

You know what they say, two's a trend -- or is it three? Oh well, does it really matter with a look this hot? We've been seeing a lot of white for this summer, which is normal for the season. But, the fab way to wear the color of angels seems to be in Grecian inspired dresses.

The nice folks at Stila sent us some samples so we could try their products first hand. We spread the bounty across two bloggers, Kristen Seymour and Cat Lincoln, who will share their reactions with you this week.

White handbags are white-hot this summer, and with good reason -- they bring a bright, classic feel to any outfit, and, as you know, white goes with almost everything. And, sure, you could go with the uber-popular oversized clutch, but since your summer dresses don't come with pockets, why not invest in a bag that will carry all your summertime necessities?

Australian Fashion Week kicked off with a bang yesterday! One of the first designers to hit the runway was Nicola Finetti. The Sydney designer proved that white isn't just for brides anymore.

If it's Spring, it's definitely time to pull out the quintessential Spring time color palette of nautical navy blue and white. But you don't have to wear a pair of white sailor pants and Gilligan shirt. Tufi Duek's "Beth" dress is made of a navy blue jersey stretch fabric. The satin scoop neckline will let you breathe, and features a very nautical-inspired white rope and grommet detail. Pleating at the bustline and at the back make the dress a comfortable wear for daytime. We'd outfit this dress with a pair of flats, either in a matching navy blue, or patent red for contrast.

We're a little bit obsessed with stripes right now, even though we used to shy away from them big time, unless they were narrow and vertical.

In shoes, however, stripes will never make your feet look fat. In fact, Alexander McQueen's Striped Leather Pumps with a 5" heel (Net-a-Porter actually says 130mm, which is more than 5") will stretch your legs into long lean towers. There's a small platform rise at the peep-toe'd front to help with your balance.

Spring is here. Let's get out some white clothes.

This spring, white is hot. Jeans, dresses, and tops for men and women. For casual sophistication without looking overly preppy, pair a solid, bright white (no ivory) piece with something brightly colored. The result is bold, crisp, and if you're female, very Retro Princess chic.

Remember all the jewel tones this winter? Well, you can pair them with white to make them look fresh. You can also go hunting for bright clothes in the newest spring styles, like the above cinched front top in orange from Forever21, which I'd pair with slim white pants.

Beware the washed-out, muted colors that Forever21 and H&M tend to overstock, though. Go for pizazz. One company with their finger on the pulse of bright colors that sing? Uniqlo.

Whether you'll be lounging on a catamaran or just going to work, solid white with bright is a safe, stylish way to go!

It's almost Spring, which means you can get the very last use out of winter clothes, or forge ahead and wear your new spring things. Of course, you can also try for something right int he middle, like white rain boots.

Cesare Paciotti's White Dagger rain boots are boots, which I always associate with cool weather, but they are bright white, perfect to wear with all the bright new colors for Spring. Already thinking of Spring? I certainly am and am looking forward to the first warm (dry) day I can wear something as fresh and cute as the Buonissimo Swirl dress from Nanette Lepore. The simple sheath is made of either a red or cobalt blue swirl pattern on cotton fabric. The front looks innocent enough with a cascade of bead detail from a high round neckline down the chest, but features a large keyhole opening in the back. In the Spring, it'll be bare legs and a pair of gleaming white round toe pumps.

The name of the dress is "She's in Love," and that might be because I'm head over heels for Joie's sweater dress, or it might just be because I'm in love!

Eh. It's the dress.

Joie's She's in Love dress is perfectly warm for mid-January because it's made of an ivory-colored cashmere and wool blend. The deep V-neck is cut off with a slight gather just before it gets too risque to wear the dress to Sunday night dinner with the famil. The long sleeves let out to bells, which matches the slight fare in the skirt.

The dress is on sale at Amazon for $129.99, which is quite a deal given that the dress can do double duty as a tunic top over leggings.
