After reports that Victoria Beckham's denim line was dropped from high-end retailers Kitson and Saks Fifth Avenue earlier this year, the posh mother of three is set to relaunch the brand in Spring 2010, according to Elle UK.

The collection, formerly known as dVb, has been renamed "Victoria Beckham Denim" and will skew more high-end, as well as "sharper and sleeker," says the British magazine, which ran pictures of the new styles.

Focusing on super-slim cigarette pants in both traditional washes and light pastel hues, along with bright leggings, a slouchy boyfriend jean, roughed up denim jackets and vests and crotch-skimming cut-offs, we expect a better response this time around. Especially if Beckham's dress line is any indication.

But recessionistas shouldn't get their hopes up -- prices will reportedly start at around $235.

Eva Mendes and model Jamie Dornan are back in action for Calvin Klein Jeans.

The sexy duo, who are currently romping through the company's fall campaign, work their barely-clad magic again for the Spring 2010 ads shot by famed fashion photographer Steven Klein.

And if you thought the previous Jeans and Underwear ads were hot (and controversial), the upcoming ads should be even more so.

A company insider told StyleList that the two are much more comfortable with each other now: "The rapport between them was great for the second campaign because they became great friends after shooting their first campaigns together for Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear."

The campaign will feature Calvin Klein Jeans Body Whitewash for men and women, the next extension in the more contoured, shape enhancing jeans that debuted for Fall 2009 (and looked like they were painted on Mendes' shapely derriere).

For spring 2010, the jeans will be "treated in clean, translucent washes and enriched surface treatments in shades of white, ozone, and cloud." This sounds suspiciously like '80s acid wash.

Ah, who cares?! We'll be too distracted looking at their greased-up bodies.

Mendes has previously been scantily-clad in campaigns for Calvin Klein Obsession and Calvin Klein Underwear.

StyleList jumped on the Cj by Cookie Johnson bandwagon back in August, when we first learned about the label's new denim styles made for women with curves.

And, now Oprah Winfrey has joined the fan club, touting Cj's on her talk show, wearing them for a recent cover shoot for her O, The Oprah Magazine, and declaring them her new faves.

Johnson, wife of NBA legend Magic Johnson, started the line with Michael Glasser (he started premium denim dynamos Seven for all Mankind, Citizens of Humanity and Rich & Skinny) to address the lack of high-end denim lines for women who aren't super-skinny size 2s.

"It's unreal," Johnson told StyleList today of her Oprah appearance and the media mogul's all-important endorsement. "I keep trying to pinch myself. I feel like I'm in a dream. It's exciting to see someone like Oprah so excited about the jeans."

Johnson says she had met with O's creative director to try to get the line featured in the magazine.

"He said, I really like this jean," she told us. "He said, no promises, but maybe we can get it on Oprah."

Three weeks later, Johnson says, Winfrey tried the jeans on for the cover shoot, and, as she told her studio audience, she ended up wearing them for three days - in a row.

We've seen American First Lady Michelle Obama in shorts, and French First Lady Carla Bruni in -- um -- absolutely nothing.

But when it comes to denim, the First Lady "beauty pageant" appears to have a new contender: Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of Japan's Prime Minister, Yukio Hatoyama.

Clad in a black blazer, jeans (of course) and chic black pumps, the 66-year-old First Lady was presented with the Best Jeanist Award today as part of Tokyo Fashion Week, The Australian News reports.

The award, given by the Japanese Jeans Association to celebrities who wear denim, honored Hatoyama for "wearing jeans in a classy but revolutionary style," the association told the paper.

So, what did the lucky winner have to say for herself? "This is the prize I have long wished to win," the source quotes Hatoyama as saying. "I'm a jeans lover. I'm always putting on jeans as they're easy to wear."

When she's not collecting plaques for being a blue jean baby queen, the First Lady -- a former actress -- seems to keep busy raising eyebrows.

According to her Wikipedia bio, she has written about boarding a UFO bound for Venus (who hasn't?) and claims that she knew Tom Cruise in a previous incarnation -- when he was Japanese!

Okay, that we could maybe believe.

This First Lady may win raves for her jeans, but we know a certain world leader -- cough, Obama -- who is getting no love for his mom jeans.

After reporting many a depressing recessionary bust, here's some uplifting economic news: Joe's Jeans reported a 16% increase in net sales for its third quarter.

The denim company also upped its gross profit to $10.4 million compared to $9 million for the same quarter last year.

Marc Crossman, President and CEO of Joe's Jeans, explained the results to stock holders, saying:

"These results translated into net income for the third quarter of fiscal 2009 of $1.9 million and earnings per share of $0.03. We had what we believe to be a very productive quarter which we will continue to build upon in the fourth quarter of 2009 and into 2010."

While Crossman's explanation will keep stockholders happy, we're relieved that one of our favorite denim brands isn't in danger.

Love denim but sick of the boyfriend jean? Maybe it's time to try the jeggings trend.

Talk about courtroom drama!

Former Guess Inc. fit model Lindsey Ring is suing the fashion company, alleging that its CEO Paul Marciano of making unwanted sexual advances toward her, including groping and suggestive comments, according to WWD.

Filed in the Los Angeles, Calif. Superior Court, the lawsuit goes on to charge that Guess cut back Ring's fit model hours when she resisted Marciano's come-ons, and that she quit February of this year because she feared for her physical safety, reports the source.

Claiming mental anguish and emotional distress, Ring is seeking damages for lost wages, benefits and medical expenses.

But it looks like Guess Inc. will be staunchly fighting the suit: VP and general counsel Deborah Siegel said, "The case has no merit," the site reports.

The fashion company known for its bombshell Guess girls now has bi-coastal lawsuits: Guess was sued by a New York City landlord.

The Brits have always had a fondness for antiques -- this is the country that considers Queen Victoria's old undies a national treasure, after all -- but it turns out this fetish for all things old runs a lot deeper than we thought.

According to a survey by the Lakeside Shopping Center in Essex, England, two million Britons have held on to jeans for 40 or more years, The Telegraph reports. (And you thought it was just your dad.)

Thankfully, that's not the norm -- or else the entire country would be overrun with patchwork bell-bottoms that reeked of patchouli.

According to the paper, the survey found that the average pair of jeans is six years old. As for why people keep their faded baby blues, 48 percent of those surveyed said that jeans will always be in style, and 46 percent of men keep an old pair around for messy repairs and household chores.

Gap celebrated its 40th anniversary earlier this year by ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

But now a chapter has closed on the iconic American retailer: Donald Fisher, co-founder of Gap, died on Sunday in San Francisco at the age of 81.

After launching the company in 1969 with his wife Doris, Don pioneered a new way of shopping -- specialty stores weren't as mainstream back then -- and proceeded to grow Gap into the mega company we know it as today. Gap Inc. owns several other huge brands including Old Navy and Banana Republic.

Some of us are old enough to remember when the retailer was called The Gap (referring to the generation gap between baby boomers and their parents) and sold Levi's.

"My father was an inspiration to many people both in his dedication to his business and through his enthusiasm and commitment to philanthropic efforts," said Don's son, Bob Fisher.

Adding, "On behalf of our family, we want to thank everyone who has offered their love and support. We are comforted in the knowledge that my father's legacy will live on in the spirit and passion of the millions of people who have worked over the past 40 years for the company he founded."

StyleList pays tribute to another legendary tastemaker who helped make fashion what it is today.

Talk about fashion influence! Among their stylish accomplishments, Levi Strauss & Co. created the first pair of women's jeans 75 years ago.

Back in the fall of 1934, the all-American company took a gamble by producing the first jeans made exclusively for women called "Lady Levi's jeans." The line was originally made for "Western women" on ranches and farms that had been borrowing men's Levi's (the first Boyfriend jeans?).

Now the brand is celebrating the anniversary of equal denim duds for everyone by rolling out store events nationwide.

As a mother of two who is far from a sample size and living in a non-fashion capitol, many trends touted by the Vogues, Glamours and W's of the world - not to mention seen on designer runways - might not actually be meant for me.

It's time to put the trends to the test.

The Trend: Jeggings (As in, "Jeans" + "Leggings," in case you haven't heard the term yet.)

Beyoncé wears them with sky-high stilettos and a blazer. Sienna Miller, Rihanna, Paris Hilton and Whitney Port like them (shudder) stonewashed. Gwen Stefani and Lily Allen opt for simple, dark washes. Ciara will take them tie-dyed, thank you very much.

Then there are the runways: Twenty8Twelve, Rock & Republic, Hussein Chalayan, Rag & Bone, William Rast and Gucci - to name a few -- painted them on models for their Fall '09 fashion shows.

And, now, every brand - from Topshop and bebe to James Jeans and Hudson - seems to have its own version of the jegging.

With the success of model-themed reality shows "America's Next Top Model" and "Make Me a Supermodel," even clothing companies are getting in on the competition-style search for their mannequins.

To celebrate a newly revamped Website, JoesJeans.com, JOE's Jeans launched a model search contest earlier this summer and the winners have finally been announced, exclusively to StyleList.

The lucky model lady is Madeline Lamond from Sacramento, Calif. She's a 20-year-old dance major at the University of Irvine, weighing in at 125 lbs. and a towering 5'11".

Megan Fox was seen wearing a pair of True Religion jeans to a sushi dinner with on-again/off-again boyfriend Brian Austin Green on September 6th.

The next day, she wore them once again while taking a stroll through Toronto.

The style is "Vintage Joey" in the "Dark Hollow" wash--a rugged style with ripped knees and slash marks over the thighs.

We can't blame Fox for double-dipping...relaxed jeans are the ideal weekend wardrobe, and this look is set to be HUGE for fall.

Tired of having to buy her favorite jeans in multiple lengths so she can wear them with heels and flats, and fed up with shelling out big bucks to have too-long jeans professionally hemmed, fellow AOL staffer Allison Mezzifonte decided to try HemmingMyWay, a product designed to solve both problems. Denim commercials drive me nuts! A model slides into her favorite pair of jeans, slips on her shoes and runs out the door. She makes it look so effortless, so unlike real life -- particularly mine.

Last night, Gap Creative Director Patrick Robinson celebrated the company's new 1969 Jean Shop on Robertson Boulevard in West Hollywood, Calif.

Joel Madden played DJ, while celebs including Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Emma Roberts, Molly Sims, Anthony Kiedis and Halle Berry (who got cozy with beau Gabriel Aubry) fêted the new heritage-inspired denim pop-up store, which will be open until September 27.

All jeans in the 1969 Premium Jeans Collection -- named after the year of Gap's inception -- retail for a recession-friendly $70 and feature reworked denim with authentic details like selvage hems, seems, hardware, washes and stitching.

Choose from the Always Skinny, Real Straight, Sexy Boot and denim style du jour: the slouchy Boyfriend, which pretty much guarantees a flattering pair for every figure.

Best news? The 1969 jean cuts will stay the same each season, while buttons, washes and detailing will change to reflect current trends. So, no more heartbreak when your favorite jeans finally give out.

"Jeggings." Add it to your vocabulary and keep doing those lunges because the jean of the season isn't getting any looser, hence the new leggings-influenced term for ultra-fitted jeans.

I recently scored the "Twiggy" by James Jeans; available at shopbop, and while I'm as modest as the next girl (well, almost), I waited until a skinny day to even try them on.

Surprise! Not only do they not make you look fat, but they possess a mystical slimming, butt-lifting and thigh-shaping effect. I swear!

I was advised to go up one size from normal and I can breathe, eat a few bites of salad and everything.

Hussein Chalayan also created an extremely body skimming style, aptly called the "Legging" (you might need a shoe horn to get them on) for his collaboration with J Brand, The designer's capsule collection is currently on display in the window of Barneys New York on Madison Avenue in New York City.

How to wear the trend? Treat the tight jeans like leggings: Avoid tucking anything into them or wearing cropped tops -- despite the runway model's leggy look (above left) -- it's not flattering on the rest of us.

A longer, belted shirt or cardigan paired with killer ankle boots or demure flats is the chic and current way to go.

According to a report in USA Today, premium denim sales appear to be slumping, while jeans priced under $200 are still selling well.

The newspaper referenced market research conducted by NPD Group, which reported that denim by accessible brands like Levi's, Lee and Wrangler have all seen sales increases, even in the early months of 2009 (the worst part of the recession), yet the same didn't happen in the $200+ category of the $13 billion denim industry.

"The economy shifted, and all of a sudden those outrageous prices actually look outrageous," said NPD chief retail analyst Marshal Cohen. "The super premium jean business has dropped off tremendously because the inspirational shoppers aren't going up that high, and luxury customers aren't buying two or three pairs anymore."

While high-end denim makers aren't admitting any signs of weakness, the article points out that they are now offering more and more non-denim products with cheaper price tags, and trying to communicate to customers why pricier denim is worth every penny.

Think it's time for baggy boyfriend jeans to be the "it" jean? Let's hope so, because according to this article, medical experts are seeing a rise in the number of women with nerve damage in their legs -- and skinny jeans are to blame!

Apparently there is a nerve that runs down the side of your leg and, as the article quotes New Orleans neurologist Dr. John England, "Anything that is tight around there could potentially compress the nerve that goes there."

(Oh, and wearing high heels only makes it worse because of the unnatural way they push your pelvis forward. What else are we wearing that's bad for us?)

Women have reported tingling sensations in their legs and -- in some cases -- full-on numbness. The symptoms are temporary and when you take off the jeans things should return to normal, but still -- kinda creepy!

Here's the big question:

If you know your skinny jeans could cause your leg to go numb does that make you think twice about wriggling into them? Or do you not care?

This week, Kris Allen totally dodged a bullet on "American Idol." The "dark horse" contestant managed to come out of nowhere to prevent the seemingly inevitable face-off between Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert. With this turn of events, it comes down to Kris and Adam.

Sure, Kris is a great singer, but is that what really made the difference? We think Kris' come-from-behind win is a sign that America likes his style.

If we had to pinpoint exactly what gave Kris Allen the edge, we'd say it was his lucky jeans. Not Lucky Brand jeans, mind you -- we mean jeans that actually worked as a good luck charm.
