    While we're used to seeing her with sexy curls, Megan Fox is just as stunning with a sleek center part and pulled-back 'do. According to L'Oreal, we could all be kissing our gray hairs adieu in a mere 10 years.

The beauty company is working on a breakthrough treatment geared towards ending gray hair for good. They expect it to consist of an oral element backed by a hair care range, and be available within 10 years, reported the Daily Mail.

Hair gets its hue from melanocytes, pigment cells that give color to both the skin and the hair.

"When hair goes gray, there is a progressive disappearance of the melanocytes from the hair. While there are still melanocytes in the hair, there is still hope that it could be re-pigmented," Patricia Pineau, L'Oreal Research Communications Director told the paper.

"Hair is an enigma," she added. "It's a fiber, a material with physical properties. It is also a living organ that grows, grays and falls out. How can we fight this? Do we need a physical approach or a biological approach?"

An oral program supplemented with a hair care program would do both, targeting graying from both the inside and out.

A top focus of the beauty company's since it was founded over 100 years ago, L'Oreal spends over £581 million pounds last year on research -- about twice as much as its competitors.

That's what world-renowned celebrity colorist Kelly Van Gogh has set out to change. "There's no reason on this earth to have 52 shades of brown," she tells StyleList. "It's redundant and confusing."

And at the salon, you'll get the perfect hue, but who has the time (and money) it takes for touch ups every few weeks?

Van Gogh heard these frustrations from her clients -- and she didn't have a solution. "Color needs maintenance but I couldn't get to my clients every three weeks. They were asking for help, but there wasn't an at-home box color I could recommend," she told StyleList.

Another day, another blonde celebrity.

This fall, brunettes have been biting the dust like mad, trading their darker locks for a "funner," lighter hue.

But Refinery 29 brings up a great point: If Kim Kardashian's hair counts as blonde, is Raquel Zimmerman's considered radioactive white? And what about Taylor Momsen, Ashley Tisdale, and LiLo? (if you can see past her alleged plastic surgery, that is)

  • Lady Gaga's Hair Color. If you envy (naturally brunette) Lady Gaga's platinum hair, listen up. Stylist Nicole Gache of NYCs Valery Joseph Salon is the brains behind the high-impact look, and it's not an easy one to achieve. "We worked on her hair for three days straight, coloring it gradually with a lot of conditioning treatments," says Gache. So if you're thinking of the same look, "It's important to see a good colorist," Gache cautions. "Gradual treatments with heavy conditioning is key."
  • Heather Graham's Hair Housecalls. If you were wondering how celebrities find time to stay coiffed, here's one secret: house calls. NYC stylist Adrian De Berardinis of the De Berardinis Salon recently paid a visit to Graham at her NYC pad for a trim. Berardinis told us he used a cool new blow-drier called the Cricket Q-ZONE, which has a special silent motor that won't drown out client-stylist chit chat.
  • Mary-Louise Parker's Blowouts. When stars like Mary-Louise Parker and Rosanna Arquette just want a quick blowout, they head to Blow, the New York Blow Dry Bar. Style Censorship Alert! Japan announced today that it's cracking down on the style antics of its competitive swimmers.

Swimmers may face lifetime bans from the sport if they decorate their fingernails or wear bright polish, dye their hair, or wear earrings. This may be a tough bill to face in a culture that's all about self expression - and revered for its creative nail art.

The ruling, according to Reuters, is to prevent swimmers from showing up for competitions looking more rockstar chic than diver geek.

"The United States and Australia are also setting these criteria," the Japan Swimming Federation's executive director Masafumi Izumi told local media Wednesday, after the stringent new plan had been been written into its charter. Swimmers will have to sign a letter of oath stating they'll abide by these new rules.

Fashion forward rule-breakers face being booted off the team and sent home in disgrace, a suspension of up to five years or even a lifetime ban.

This is the latest in a recent string of beauty bans - Tajikistan just banned beards for teachers under 50.

"High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale was seen leaving an LA salon on Tuesday after getting some new blonde hair extensions.

Fans had just gotten used to the formerly light-haired star as a brunette, but it looks like Ashley Tisdale believes blondes have more fun -- at least if her new hair extensions are any indication.

The actress follows stars like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears, who have both recently extended their long, blonde locks via human hair pieces.

Time will tell whether the new shade is for an upcoming appearance, movie roll, or just because. We're hoping it has something to do with "Teen Witch," a remake of the cult-classic '80s movie that Ashley is slated to star in next year.

Last night, Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves attended the QVC and FFANY Shoes on Sale event for charity. And while we definitely wanted the dish on Simpson's famous hair, we couldn't help but ask what celeb stylist Ken Paves would do for Kate Gosselin's famous 'do:

"Something a little bit less disconnected and drastic," he said, without hesitation.

StyleList: So, more like a bob or a shag? Something totally different?

"No, I like it," Ken replied. "A little bit more fluid, a little bit softer, a little bit more feminine. I think she's beautiful and she has a great figure after 8 kids!"

And how does Jessica keep her hair so fabulous with all of the constant processing?

"Not washing [her] hair as often, good shampoo and conditioner," he told StyleList. "I also love Moroccan Oil, olive oil is an amazing conditioner."

But luck also has something to do it, as Ken cites Jessica's "girl-next-door tangibility" as the key to her great hair.

"That's her hair, we don't try to make it anything it's not, it's just really beautiful, flowy hair."

How lucky is that?

We just had one final question--are any of Ken's other celebrity clients getting a little help from his famous hair extensions line? (Jessica is a fan, and co-creator.)

"I use my extensions on everybody, you know--Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, I do some great things for Gaga, Victoria Beckham, all my girls. I pull out all the stops!

The event, which Simpson hosted, was a big success for benefitting Breast Cancer awareness. "Both my grandmothers suffered from Breast Cancer. One was a survivor and one wasnt," Jessica told QVC correspondent and "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style" co-host Grechen Monahan.

So when QVC approached Simpson with the idea of a charity shoe sale, she jumped at the chance. "I mean, I'll make a shoe for it, of course! This is everything I'm about."

This just in: Blondes really do have more fun.

That is, if your idea of a good time is standing in front of a mirror and putting on makeup (woo hoo!).

A new survey conducted by Goody hair care revealed that blondes spend six more minutes per day than brunettes getting ready -- totaling 22 days of the year, compared to 19 for dark-haired gals, as reported by The Telegraph.

(22 days?!? What have I done with my life?)

According to the survey, blondes reportedly devote 72 minutes per day on their beauty regimen, while brunettes take 66 minutes.

StyleList fans have spoken - and Jessica Alba listened.

The star, who went from blonde to red on September 28th, quickly dyed her locks back to a more natural-looking shade of dark brown three days later.

It must have been because StyleList readers hated the new shade.

In our poll, 86% of over 25,000 voters preferred Alba in dark locks, while only 11% and 3% liked the red and blonde looks, respectively.

We wonder why the quick change: was the hair color switcharoo for a role, or did Alba just dislike her carrot top as much as you did?

And what's next - Black locks? Well, it would be right in line with the current Goth moment.

Drew Barrymore was sporting some punk two-tone hair (above right) up until the premiere of her new movie "Whip It" (out tonight).

For the red carpet, Drew Barrymore pulled a fashion about-face in a slinky black L'Wren Scott dress, Neil Lane jewelry and brand new hair (above left).

It appears that instead of bleaching those unsightly ends back to normal, Barrymore (or her stylist) simply snipped them off.

Meanwhile, the movie -- which involved some intense Roller Derby training for Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page -- was almost upstaged by the stars' racy photo shoots.

The actresses have been seen straddling each other and kissing in magazine spreads for Vs. and Marie Claire.

Let's hope the film lives up to the hype!

THE SCOOP: Using inspiration from nature and his love of painting, newcomer Christian Cota creates pieces that are flirtatious, ladylike, and stunning in their simplicity. Cota's Spring 2010 collection is a flash back to a 1950's garden party, full of delicate fabrics and floral prints.

To complement Cota's girly-chic style, Rojas created big, soft curls to underscore the feminine vibe of the clothes and emphasize the romantic innocence of youth. "I wanted a clean, vintage glamor look," he said.

Willer used a lot of natural color with a hint of pink for the eyes and face, paired with deep red, luscious lips to emphasize the contrast beween the drop-dead gorgeous hair and the delicate couture of the collection.

Jessica Alba is a fox, and when we saw her lightened hair in person (though we'd previously had our doubts about it) we had to admit it looked pretty good.

StyleList: Are you blonde for good now?

Alba: "Uh, no. My roots grow out!"

StyleList: Now that you're a mom, are you in sweatpants all the time? What do you wear at home?

Alba: "Jeans, t-shirt...I'm actually kind of liking this [jeans] brand called Black Orchid. it's cute...and they stretch!

StyleList: What about makeup? Do you use anything from the drugstore?

Alba: Um no. [Then she remembers her Revlon contract.] I kind of only use Revlon makeup from the drugstore. The Beyond Natural stuff is awesome because you don't really look like you're wearing makeup and it kind of helps when you're feeling tired. And I love all their glosses.

StyleList: It seems like your body bounced back right away after you gave birth. Was it easy for you?

Alba: No -- getting back in shape after a baby is really hard. It was not fun. I stepped up my training for sure right after.

StyleList: Who's your trainer?

Alba: Her name's Ramona.

He used simple water to slick the girls' hair into straight middle parts and gathered the hair into a low ponytail. He used Fabricate 03 for texture.

While her kids presumably played house with the nanny (since Jon is probably off on a yacht somewhere), Kate Gosselin played co-host today on ABC's "The View".

But as she chatted about Taylor Swift and Kanye at the VMAs, we couldn't help but focus on her hair.

Gone was the usual ashy blond asymmetrical 'do she's been known for.
In its place, a softer, more feminine look that we actually -- dare we say it -- like!

What's different: Gosselin's hair is a more golden shade of blond. The ashy, bleached-out tone she had was too intense. The View stylist also worked to lessen the lopsided look by curling her hair loosely to blend the layers.

The end result? Kate is starting to look more like the one who should be galavanting around Europe on yachts.
