One of the companies not hurting from the recession is luxury online boutique Gilt Groupe, which specializes in high-end sample sales of up to 70% off retail prices.

And the e-commerce site just expanded its offerings with GiltMan.com.

While GiltGroupe.com always had a men's section, the new Gilt MAN site goes beyond fashion and moves into athletic wear (Helly Hanson snow gear, Porsche x Adidas sneakers), watches (Ducati), gadgets and other guy stuff (Bogner guitar amplifiers, Strida bikes).

The new site will also feature style advice and trend tips that correspond to upcoming sale items.

"We recognized an opportunity in the men's online retail space after hearing from our male members that they wanted a site that was distinctly theirs and we answered them with Gilt MAN," said Nate Richardson, the VP and GM of Gilt MAN, in a statement.

"At GiltMan.com, guys now have a destination that caters to their interests and lifestyles in a way that is relevant, informative and easy-to-use. Gilt MAN gives the discerning man everything he needs to live the life he aspires to lead."

Don Draper is the most dashing man on television and now you can sport a suit just like his.

Brooks Brothers and "Mad Men" costume designer Janie Bryant have collaborated to create a suit inspired by the slim styles of Don Draper and his cohorts at Sterling-Cooper.

The limited edition suits -- there are only 250 being produced -- will feature specially created "Mad Men" labels and retail in the range of the company's 1818 suit collection at around $1,000, a Brooks Brothers spokesman said.

Being sold exclusively in 10 Brooks Brothers stores and online at a specially created Website (launching October 19), which will be accessible through brooksbrothers.com, these suits will be in hot pursuit.

And they're only available until the show's season finale on November 8.

Brooks Brothers has worked with Bryant to create wardrobe for the show, now in its third season. The retailer has also dressed many of the cast members for awards shows and special events in the past three years, even hosting a cast party at its Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles location last fall.

Hairy men aren't getting much love in Tajikistan.

The Afghanistan-bordering country's education ministry has just ruled that male teachers under 50 cannot have beards, but it's totally cool to rock up to the classroom wearing galoshes, the AFP reports, citing several state-run newspaper reports.

According to the news service, men under 50 must be clean-shaven, while silver foxes are permitted to grow beards provided they are not longer than 1.2 inches.

In related news, the members of ZZ Top have just handed in their resignations.

Beards are considered suspicious in Tajikistan, the AFP reports, given the country's devastating civil war against Islamist forces.

The new dress code, designed to suit "the mentality and customs of the people" according to the education ministry's decree, is more lenient when it comes to footwear, so long as the shoe fully covers the foot, the AFP reports. That means rubber galoshes, frequently worn in this rainy climate, get the green light, says the news service.

We'd poke fun at the randomness of these rules, but maybe these folks are on to something. Any chance we can ban comb-overs and those icky high-waisted gym teacher shorts in our schools?

Ah, men. They'll use any excuse to fiddle with their junk, won't they?

Case in point: Hom's new underwear designed to provide left-handed men easier access to the family jewels.

Available in black or white and sold at British department store Debenhams, the Hom H1 Original Maxi Trunk will "save left-handed men up to three, often vital, seconds when visiting the loo," the company claims in a statement to The Telegraph.

While we try not to contemplate what men will be up to in those three "vital" seconds (ew!), lefties can marvel over the southpaw south-of-the-border trunks, which boast a patented HO1 horizontal opening as opposed to the traditional right-handed slit. According to its sales copy, the trunks are universally accessible for both right- and left-handed fellas.

Weren't special scissors enough?

And, wait, it gets better.

"In our view this is a vital step toward equality for left-handed men," Rob Faucherand, men's accessories buyer for Debenhams, told the paper. "We see no reason why an accident of birth should dictate the type of underpants you can wear for the rest of your life."

Now maybe guys can use that extra time to put down the damn toilet seat.

Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back -- again -- this time as the face for PLAY, Givenchy's new men's fragrance.

Available in both PLAY and PLAY Intense, some of the scents include top notes of bergamot and mandarin orange, middle notes of amyris wood, black pepper and coffee flower and bottom notes of vetiver and patchouli.

The ad campaign, photographed by Tom Munro, is inspired by Timberlake's life.

Girls, our days of gagging at hairy old men wedged into teeny tiny Speedos are over!

At least at Alton Towers, that is. The British water park has put a stop to the clingy, stretchy madness by banning men from wearing Speedos and other TMI swimwear, The Guardian reports.

The best part? The cheeky press release Alton Towers issued announcing their decision, which reads:


"To prevent embarrassment among fellow members of the public and to maintain the family-friendly atmosphere at the resort, bosses have taken the extreme measure of banning these tight trunks from their popular waterpark located within the Splash Landings Hotel.


"While women may hail the return of the skimpy bathers, the style itself is not deemed public or family friendly, and therefore we are requesting that male swimmers wear more appropriate styles such as boardshorts."
The company is also considering offering males free waxing services to further keep things on the up and up. Consider yourself warned, "Beach Bob."


Okay, so our days of ogling sexy Daniel Craig lookalikes in snug shorts may be over (we'll always have these David Beckham shots), but it's a small price to pay for the freedom to go swimming without being assaulted by visions of upper thigh flab, crotch smuggling, and hairy backs.

We may actually get in the pool now.

It takes a real man to wear pink. And since Brad Pitt is nothing if not a real man, it's no surprise that he absolutely owned the pale pink, two-piece "Spencer" suit by Tom Ford Menswear. He sported the pastel-hued ensemble at the Cannes photocall for his film "Inglourious Basterds."

Pitt paired his rosy suit with a crisp white shirt, gray cashmere scarf and brown loafers (very yacht-worthy), all from the Tom Ford Menswear collection. We have to admit, we didn't realize the color could look so manly.

Last Thursday, Adrien Brody rolled up to a screening of The Brothers Bloom (maybe he thought it was called The Brothers Blue) with an eye-catching new do. Problem was, it consisted of roughly a dozen blue-highlighted chunks poking out of his typically messy and understated hair.

Really, Adrien? Really? All he needed was a glow stick and a pacifier to complete his "I'm a rebellious teenager" look.We're really not quite sure what's going on with this shaggy mess (hopefully those blue streaks are just extensions), and we have absolutely no idea what Adrien is shooting for -- but it definitely got our attention. Not to mention, his experimentation brings up a pretty valid beauty question: is pink, blue, orange, purple, etc. hair dye fair game for anyone over the age of 25?

Maybe Adrien got the blue streaks for an upcoming role in a movie about people who follow jam bands? That would totally explain it. Otherwise, we say leave rainbow colored hair dye to those who don't look like they need it to cover their gray.

The NY Post is claiming that Adrien's new 'do is inspired by none other than "American Idol" finalist Adam Lambert, whose glam rock style is taking the nation by storm. Again, really, Adrien? Really?

After Monday's bizarre incident in which Kiefer Sutherland allegedly headbutted fashion designer Jack McCollough, of Proenza Schouler fame, in the nose, word has it that Kiefer has agreed to surrender to New York authorities and take what's coming to him. Although Sutherland's people haven't issued any official statement, People Magazine reports that Kiefer is due to surrender to police in Lower Manhattan sometime today.

According to the New York Daily News, Sutherland's only facing a desk appearance and minor misdemeanor assault charges from New York authorities, but heavier penalties may await him in LA, where the "24" star is currently serving a five-year probation term.

As a result of his second DUI conviction -- for which he served 48 days in jail -- he's on thin ice with Los Angeles authorities, and it's quite possible that they will throw the book at him. According to LA criminal defense attorney Steve Sitkoff:
"If Sutherland's found in violation of probation for battery, and if he was intoxicated at the time, he could very well be sentenced to another 48 days or more."
