Fashion Evolution: Madonna
Madonna released her debut, self title album in 1982, 25 years later her 11th studio album, Hard Candy, is set to hit stores tomorrow (April 29th). While we love to "Get into the Groove" as much as the next gal, we're even more obsessed her quarter century as a fashion icon. The queen of reinvention as been a trendsetter since day one, but that doesn't mean she's always gotten it right!

Desperately Seeking Susan 1985
With her sophomore album Like A Virgin, Madonna hit the mainstream and thanks to the double whammy of MTV's rise in popularity and the success of her first major film role, Madonna's look was suddenly the way to dress for young women around the world.

The Blond Ambition Tour 1990
Jean Paul Gaultier designed the cone bra stage costumes for the tour and suddenly the trend of lingerie as outwear was, well, everywhere!

Truth or Dare Premier 1990
Flanked by her beloved backup singers, the "Material Girl" walked the red carpet in little more than a jeweled bathing suit and thigh-high stockings.

Madonna and Michael Jackson 63rd Annual Academy Awards 1991
You think Brad and Angie get a lot of attention? Imagine the paparazzi storm when Madonna dress as another famous blond (here's a hint, her name started with M as well) stepped out with Michael Jackson!

"Sex" Book Party 1992
Madonna dressed like a naughty version of Little Bo Peep at the launch party for her controversail, adult book aptly titled "Sex". Luckily her fans decided not to follow her fashion lead this time!

With Honors Premiere 1994
Madonna's sari inspired ensemble showed of the singers' famously toned abs and marked the beginning of her fascination with global fashion.

The American Music Awards 1995
Posing with super producer Babyface, Madonna temporarily left India behind and instead took inspiration from traditional Chinese attire.

"Bedtime Story" Party 1995
To celebrate the release of the 6th studio album Bedtime Story, Madonna hosted a sleepover style fiesta broadcast on MTV. Ironically, at the one event where lingerie would have been quite appropriate, the singer turned up rather covered up in a leopard print jacket and white silk dress.

I think Madonna' s beautiful for her age, I just wish she'd ACT her age instead, and not buy-into those stupid producer's, and wreck her image by posting sexy pictures of herself on CD covers, in order to get sells. If I were famous, I wouldn't give a damm about money. I would rather be true to myself, and not dress so trashy.
