JILL SCOTT DESIGNS PLUS SIZE BRA LINE
By Phebe Hunnicutt
If there was ever a motto that American women could get behind, "No more back fat!" might be it. And that's exactly what Marla Minns, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Ashley Stewart Stores, is promising with The Butterfly Collection, a new bra line the company co-created with neo-soul singer Jill Scott.
The unsightly crease caused by the back strap on traditional bras was just one of many frustrations that drove Scott to approach the plus size chain with the goal of creating a bra line designed for well endowed, full figured ladies. Not only was The Butterfly Collection Scott's brainchild, Minns says Scott came prepared to design.
"She already had a vision for how to fix the problems she had experienced," Minns told AOL StyleList. "She actually used someone's body to demonstrate and described her frustrations and then explained how she thought they could be corrected to a product developer."
The result of Scott's hands-on pitch is a line of three bras and matching panties that will be available at Ashley Stewart stores starting in May. Each style features a crossed "butterfly" double back strap (which inspired the collection's name) as well as gel-padded shoulder straps for added comfort.
After the initial launch The Butterfly Collection will continue to expand, keeping an eye on both form and function. As Minns says, "you don't want to look like you are in your grandma's bra. Our girl is sexy and pretty."

Report This! This bra should be a wake up call for most American women. I think the thought here is, I need to get my fat ass in the gym! This is like a carpenter that tries to fit a square door to a un square jamb. Square up the stupid jamb first, then install the square door. Most peoducts for women are designed to hide the truth, give the Illusion if you will. Take all that stuff off and holly crap you wanna run in the other direction.
Did it ever occur to you that EVERY ONE tries to look their best regardless of what size they are? You're very rude and disrespectful. Regardless of size, EVERY ONE deserves to be respected.

Thank God someone has come up with something positive for us big girls. I'm so sick of buying bras that are too small in one area and too large in another area just to get an almost fit. You go girl!!

I wish that this same bra was made for non-plus size also. Pants size I'm considered plus size, but up top, not even close...

There is a video on Jill Scott's website where she talks about it and shows the back-

The video is in several parts so just keep watching after you think it ends in the beginning, there is then a second part that shows the back.
