Laura Poretzky dishes on the perfect holiday look and her new line for Payless.

Laura Poretzky chatted with StyleList about her new collection of holiday shoes, as well as clued us in on how to perfectly accessorize a dress for work or an evening on the town.

You love dresses! Why are they such key pieces in your collection?

Dresses are like a womans version of a mans suit. Its something you put it on and dont have to think about it -- you instantly look a certain way. Theyre easy, comfortable, and look great throughout the day into evening.

What's the best way to accessorize a simple dress?

A great cuff, necklace, or pendant always looks good. You should accessorize it the way youd accessorize anything else -- by adding something which makes you "you" and makes it special.

Any suggestions on what to wear for a perfect party look?

I would definitely wear an amazing pair of bejeweled earrings. The whole chandelier earring thing should have never gone way! I still think they look beautiful on everybody. But they dont have to be chandeliers -- I just mean big earrings.

What's the "must have" from your new holiday Payless collection?

Theres a pump with a pleating detail we took from one of my dresses and translated it to the shoes. It has a gold heel and its very pretty. The pleating and details of that shoe makes it look very expensive. I love the whole collection -- theyre some of the most special shoes weve done for Payless.
