PHOTOS HAVE NOT BEEN RETOUCHED

With Letha, we want the focus to be on her flawless skin and beautiful features and not the discoloration that bothers her. Eve starts by applying a Priming Moisturizer with Astaxanthin.

Note: Astaxanthin is a key ingredient when it comes to skin care. It is a powerful anti-oxidant 500 times stronger than vitamin E, packed with Omega 3 and a natural sunscreen equivalent to SPF 20 without any chemicals. It also has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe, treat and protect against sun damage as it hydrates.

Using a Foundation brush and her Reverse Contouring method, Eve blends the foundation using her damp sponge. She then applies Salmon Concealer using a concealer brush on the areas that need extra coverage or have bluish undertones; under the eyes and around the mouth. Eve gently blends the concealer into the foundation using the damp sponge in a dabbing motion.

Eve sets the foundation using a Dual Pressed Powder with a Powder Puff, rolling it gently on the skin. To finish off the look, she applied a Blush Trio with a combination of peachy, pinky and brozer colors to the apples of Letha's cheeks using a Fan brush. The result gives us a flawless finish and the only thing you notice is Letha and her lovely features!

Until the next time,

Karla Hirkaler for EVE PEARL

I would love to have something similar without so many steps. I certainly don't have time for that after waking up at 5 or 5:30 to work out, and get to work by 7:45. Oh well!

Colored contacts and hair was the woman's choice i believe not the makeup artist. Excellent job on concealing the dark spots. I like the nude lip gloss great choice.

I don't know about this one. The pink in the foundation does not match the yellow undertones of her skin. Further, I thought your objective was to make an impact with the makeup/application. Why lighten her hair color? What's with the green contacts?? It's as if you're changing her to fit the make up. You should have left her hair alone, removed the contacts, and celebrated her natural beauty. Again, I don't know about this one.

Thanks for thinking I can do all things like color hair and find contact lenses in a flash. The only thing I did was do her makeup. I see you have lots of comments. Unproductive, some might say venomous and destructive comments. I'd like to see your contributions to help women (and men). Is that you in the photo or an unretouched photo of Grace Jones. I'm sure with all the time you seem to have looking at other people work, surely you can create something wonderful of your own. And possibly help women (and men). Please do show me your work. I'd gladly Tweet about it and share it with others. Thats what this community is supposed to be about. Helping each other spread good things. Have a good day.

Well said. 1 if you look at her eyes in the original photo she did not put in color contacts. The makeup made her skin look less dull which in turn brightened her eyes. I think Ms. Pearl did a beautiful job on her makeup and as a woman of color with discoloration I can only hope when I try that I can recreate the look. I wish people would stop hating on everthing that people do and unless you are in that particular field and have an opinion or are saying something positive not say anything at all..

It appears you don't take criticism well. That's fine. I get that. You posted your work and invited commentary. I guess you only wanted positive feedback. My daughter's like that too. But, she's only 8. My comments are far from unproductive. In fact, they address a common problem women of color face with foundations that do not compliment our natural undertones. I am especially troubled by the notion that "enhancing" requires lightening either our hair, eye color, or complexion. As I said in a previous post, I am a consumer. Give me a quality product, and I'd probably buy it. And, don't internalize the criticism. It's not personal. Convert it into product improvement. That's the point, isn't it?

This girl would be gorgeous even without those fake lenses.

But how about healing the skin as well as some light make up instead of gobbing foundation on it? Eve I love your posts and I have learned so much from you, but can we introduce some skin care along with the skin coverage please?

Bows humbly...

I agree with you. Thats why all EVE PEARL foundations and concealers are actually skincare. they are all oil free, paraben free, fragrance free, petrolatum free, mineral oil free...and contain Astaxanthin, an amazing omega-3 anti-oxident 500x stronger than Vitamin E. I grew up with terrible acne/now acne scars, so I'm all about treating the skin. xoxo,
