"Aspirin and water rids your hair of harmful elements. If you live by the beach or are an ocean or pool swimmer, it is mandatory that such ickies be removed quickly to prevent damage. The solution? Crunch up 1-2 aspirin and mix with water in a large spray bottle. In the shower after swimming, spray your hair with the mixture and let it set for about 2 minutes. Rinse out and condition as usual. Mix in 1-3 drops of rosemary or another scented oil -- it adds a nice fragrance. -- Nicole

"If you've ever wondered what to do with your half-empty beers, use them as a rinse in the shower. It will make your hair super shiny and easy to style. Shampoo first, pour a flat beer through your hair, rinse well with water and then condition as usual. It won't even smell!" --Jackie

"To help curly hair look less frizzy, first wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner, then apply a small amount of conditioner to damp, towel-dried hair and leave it there. Next, add a silicone-based shine product and dry your hair with a defuser -- your curls will have a thicker, frizz-free look. The key is to make sure you use a silicone-based shine product. My favorite is by Biosilk -- the shine serum is awesome and has a pretty floral smell. -- Belle

"My hair is curly but I mostly wear it straight. When I do decide to show off my curls, I wash it and then add my favorite conditioner, Moist by Aussie, and let it set until I'm about to get out of the shower. Once I'm out, I brush my hair with a wide tooth comb (with the conditioner still in) and wrap it up in a towel. I just let it air dry and it looks really cute. If you have dry ends, add a little hair serum or oil." -- Jazzy

"This may sound gross, but it really works! Mix one raw egg and mayonnaise together and leave in like a deep conditioner. Then wash with shampoo and conditioner (the shampoo is to take the smell out of your hair, the conditioner isn't really necessary unless your have tight curls like mine). It makes your hair smooth, shiny, helps with growth, keeps it strong and is easy to style. Just don't think about what is going into your hair!" -- Xxbabie

"I have very curly hair. When I wear it down, I towel dry and add hairspray all over. Next I blow dry -- make sure the blow dryer is pointing down. After a couple of minutes, I collect all my hair to one side and, while holding my hair, blow dry underneath, making sure not to let it fly up, the key to fighting frizz. I repeat this on the other side. If I notice frizz I spray a little more hairspray. I've also found that using expensive shampoo and cheap conditioner rinsed with cold water helps. -- Shae

"I use olive oil on my hair instead of pricey deep conditioners -- it's natural and leaves your hair soft and shiny. Apply enough so that your hair looks and feels wet, and then put on a shower cap and leave it in for a couple of hours. Make sure your shower is nice and hot when you wash it out to prevent residue." -- Phebe

"I rinse my hair with hot water and massage the scalp oils down to the ends of the hair. Always rinse all product out of your hair after washing, then finish with a cold water rinse. The cold water closes the scalp pores and seals the hair cuticle down against the hair shaft, leaving you with very clean, shiny hair that retains its shine for at least a week. A vinegar rinse is also good, as vinegar is the same pH as hair... and no, you don't smell like a salad afterwards, just clean and fresh." -- Ldvger

My wavy hair gets terribly frizzy along the hairline after swimming. When I get out of the ocean or pool, I immediately weave the pieces along my hairline into tiny braids and tuck them behind my ears. This looks cute, keeps my layered front pieces from frizzing, and when I unbraid them after my hair is dry, I have pretty waves. -- Sandy

angelwith9mm- i tried the egg because it is supposed to work. without thinking, i rinsed it out with warmer-than-tepid water, leaving my hair stiff and tangl ed--i had apparently scrambled some of the egg. took days, icy shampoos, and a lot of lice-picking style patience (th anks mom and roommate!), but i finally got the scrambled egg out of my hair an d went back to good old biolage conditi oning balm. to sum up, yes it dried my hair out, but i cooked the egg. =]

All my life I had straight hair. When I arrived at a "certain age" my hair star ted to get curly and now I have deep an d beautiful wavy hair. I use only natu ral products with ZERO parabens. I lov e Burts Bees shampoo and conditioner. I also love Your Crown and Glory, at ww w.yourcrownandglory.com. There are ZER O chemical additives and it leaves your hair gloriously shiny, smooth and silk y. I have never used a shampoo and/or conditioner it's equal. These products are moderately priced. Forget the che mical laden high priced salon stuff ful l of parabens and sulfates that burn th e living daylights out of your scalp. The more natural the product the health ier your hair. Bottom line.
