Glasses, Braces, Gray Hair: Make-Up Tips For Working With What You've Got

HuffPost Social Reading

Every woman has that one feature they're not crazy about, but I was taught at a young age that what makes you different makes you beautiful. As a celebrity makeup artist, I have worked on some of the biggest names in entertainment and fashion, and I have to tell you that even celebs have days where they're not feeling their best. Over the years, I have developed some tips and tricks to make your makeup work harder for you, and help you look and feel as gorgeous as you deserve!

For women with fierce frames:

● The key is to enhance and define the eyes behind the lens, which means making the most of the areas around the eyes--specifically the brows. Be sure to always keep your brows neatly groomed by plucking away any stray hairs, and well defined by using a combination of a pencil followed by a powder to create the softest, most natural-looking brow.
● Eyeliner will become your new best friend when you see how well it works to make eyes pop so they'll never get lost behind those frames. Smudge the liner right into the upper lash line to make lashes look irresistibly thick.
● Keep the focus on your stunning cheekbones by using an illuminating blush. First, take a highlighter and apply it right on top of the cheekbones. Follow with a universally flattering pinky-peach blush, swirling it in a circular motion on the apples of the cheeks, then sweeping it up along the cheekbones.

For women with braces:

● Emphasizing your eyes is a foolproof way to keep the focus off your braces. Try a fun glitter eye shadow, or a sultry smoky eye.
● Remember what I said about embracing what makes you different? Your mouth can still be the focal point if you love your lips. Why not go all out with a bold, bright lipstick hue like fuchsia? Swipe on a rich color, and the attention will be on your perfect pout.
● Always, always be sure to take good care of your lips. Use a gentle scrub to exfoliate lips at night, then generously apply an intensely moisturizing lip balm to keep lips soft and supple.

For women who are graying but still gorgeous:

● Gray hair can wash out your complexion, so don't even think about using translucent powder, which will only make you look ashier. Instead, set your makeup with the Mally Beauty Face Defender, the only truly clear powder--it not only mattifies shine, but also minimizes pores to create a smooth, flawless complexion.
● Brighten up your skin with some blush--swirl a rosy color on the apples of the cheeks, then sweep up along the cheekbone.
● Forget dark, matte lips. Go for bright, glossy lips to keep your face looking fresh and radiant--never washed out.

Remember, when you look in the mirror, sometimes you see flaws that others don't--I get it! Try to see the fierceness that everyone else sees in you! Once you learn the secrets and tips to make you the most gorgeous you've ever been, you'll look and feel your best ever!
