Bobbi Brown gives back: The Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women & Girls
Philanthropy is an important part of the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics brand, and is a role Bobbi personally takes very seriously. "I love helping others because it feels good to give back." As the creator of an iconic beauty brand, Bobbi is the first to acknowledge that may women and girls don't have the resources and opportunities to let their inner strength and beauty shine. After several years of involvement in charitable initiatives for women and girls both in New York City and globally, Bobbi launched the Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women & Girls in 2013, to help women of all ages "be who they are" by supporting programs that provide them with the knowledge, skills and experience to overcome disadvantages and inequality.
The Pretty Powerful Campaign kicked off 2014 earlier this month, with the launch of the Pretty Powerful Mascara in 4 countries. In the U.S., every cent of the $25 retail price will be donated to The Girl Rising Fund, a 501c3 fund operated by the Tides Foundation, which removes barriers to education that many girls face in developing nations. The fund helps girls get the education they need to care for themselves, their families, and to change the world.
The Pretty Powerful Mascara can be found on Bobbi's website, and with all the proceeds going to a good cause, how could we not partake in a little spring makeup upgrade?
"It started with makeup but evolved into empowering women and girls through education. There is nothing that makes a woman or girl feel more confident than being educated and, therefore, able to care for herself and for her family. That is pretty powerful," Bobbi says. We couldn't agree more.
