In a surprising move, publishing giant Condé Nast has decided to discontinue its internship program starting in 2014 amid legal woes surrounding intern pay.

This summer, two former interns of Condé Nast, claimed they were being paid below minimum wage during their internships at W Magazine and The New Yorker. Condé isn't the only media company facing similar disputes, however, they are the first to make a decision that will likely impact an industry that employs countless interns.

The lawsuits against filed this summer Condé are still pending.
