For Rebecca Minkoff's Spring 2013 footwear campaign, titled Shoes in the City, the designer did something out of the box: She tapped It girls, like Erica Domesek, DIY maven of P.S.- I Made This...; Christine Olsen, the communications manager at CFDA; and Jen Rubio, the head of social media at Warby Parker, to wear her kicks out and about. Then, fans (or shall we say, Minkettes) are encouraged to guess via Minkoff's blog, which shoes match each fashion insiders' style. Whether you've been following along since it kicked off on Monday or just tuned in now, we are exclusively revealing that Domesek chose the Bettina sandals in neon green.

"Erica's so creative, I just love seeing what she will come up with," Minkoff told us. "So I was so excited to see what she would pair my shoes with!"

We've also landed this interview with Domesek that gives us a closer look at her stylish lifestyle and why she's a shoe girl.

On what it's like to run P.S.- I Made This... day-to-day: No day is the same. They always start out with a mean cup of coffee. But other than that, no day is the same. Some days I am shooting in the studio, where we are creating new DIY content. I just finished my book, which is exciting! I'm really fortunate I get to travel for work to places like L.A. or Utah and am constantly surrounded by elements that inspire me.

On her favorite NYC spots: NY Cake and Baking shop-P.S. I love to bake! NY Costumes-They have really fun and quirky things. ABC Kitchen, it's basically like my Cheers. My good friend Dan Kluger is the chef there. And Bergdorf Goodman-it's magical.

On her shoe of choice: I love fun flats and fun boots. Because I am always on the go and constantly making things, flats are comfortable, especially when handling a glue gun.

On styling the Bettina flats: These shoes are better than coffee. They will wake you up simply by looking down at their brighter-than-bright hue. I consider them to be the sunshine in my day. I wore them with leather pants because I live in them. Leather pants are a neutral, naturally.

Her best footwear advice: If a shoe makes you giddy, wear it. The color, the style, whatever it is. Think of it like an accessory for your feet. Just like a necklace on a neck that sparkles, so should your tootsies.

The three types of shoes styles every girl should have in her closet are: Black booties, ballet flats, and riding boots.

On shoe nostalgia: The day that I was able to start wearing my mother's shoes and fit into her size 7.5 shoes was everything to me. #PSCanIborrowThis
