If you're a fan of Netflix's hit show, 'House of Cards' then you probably know Kristen Connolly. The 34-year-old actress plays Christina Gallagher, a congressional staffer and love interest of congressman Peter Russo. Kristen also starred in the cult-classic 'The Cabin in the Woods' and now, her newest project has her as in very different character, the wife of Harry Houdini!

In the two-night scripted miniseries, which airs Labor Day on History Channel, Oscar award winning actor Adrienne Brody, who plays the legendary illusionist and Kristen, who plays Bess Houdini, the wife of the famed superstar tells the told and untold story of Harry Houdini.

While many may not know much about Bess, Kristen's portrayal of her will show a different, unexpected side. "There's a ton written about Harry and not a lot written about Bess. A lot surprised me about her because I didn't know that much about her at all. I didn't realize they didn't have kids and they had a ton of pets, which I thought was really funny, even though I learned that was apparently normal. She's in a way very contemporary. I'd describe her as loyal, fun, and spirited," remarked Kristen. The miniseries depicts Harry's journey from circus sideshows to sold-out concert halls and everything in between.

For Kristen, one of the best (and worst) parts of playing this character was the wardrobe. "Bustiers are amazing, but they are so uncomfortable! They do so much for the body, but at the cost of comfort," describes Kristen.

Kristen describes Bess Houdini right by Harry's side during some of his most amazing feats, but what we found most amazing was Kristen's ability to convey the passion and love Bess had, even under the most life-defying feats. You can watch Kristen in the 2-part miniseries, September 1st at 9/8C on the History Channel.
