By City Brewed
Sometimes, on only the sunniest of afternoons, I find myself stumbling through TriBeCa, taking a wrong turn here, a "this is probably it" turn there. The streets --some cobblestone-- make for a quaint neighborhood walk on afternoons when the highest priority on your to do list is to find a kickass latte.
On one of these days, I found myself at Kaffe 1668 with Sari Bibliowicz, co-founder of fashion swap site, Bib + Tuck. Over a latte and a coffee (with almond milk) we talked cleaning out our wardrobes, life's simplest daily pleasures, and coffee of course!

Tell us a little bit about Bib + Tuck
Bib + Tuck is a curated online community of shopable personal closets. So the idea is that we all have a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear and instead of agonizing over what else we can buy, and going out and spending more money on new trends and new seasons...we're trying to create a platform where people can share and buy and sell secondhand clothing in a really cool and interesting and fun new way.
What are your tips for getting rid of the old and bringing in the new?
The one year rule: if you haven't worn it in a year, you probably won't wear it again. Why clutter your closet and your space? It might have a better home somewhere else.
Another thing I think is really important is when you clean out your closet to have fun with it. Put on a cool playlist. Find a friend who can give you tips on what fits you well and what doesn't. Maybe grab some wine and have fun while you're doing it so it doesn't feel like a chore.
You might decide to give to a fabric recycling company, or you might decide to give to charity, or there's other things you might want to sell. I think it's about creating three piles and figuring out what goes into each and then from there sorting it properly.
Bring us through a day in the life!
I've realized that my most productive times are the mornings, so I usually don't schedule anything in the mornings. I usually have my mornings strictly for strategic thinking, and I'll leave my afternoons for more of the meetings and interacting with people.
From there it sort of depends on the day. I handle everything marketing, PR, partnerships, social media-everything that's a little bit more external in the company. So it ranges from creating marketing campaigns to figuring out social media strategies to meeting people for brand partnerships. So it's really a mix everyday.
What are some of your simplest daily pleasures?
Definitely coffee shops in the morning. I try to leave my apartment at about 7 or 8 am and go to a coffee shop and work out of there. It's just nice for me to be out of the office and out of my apartment in a different place with a different vibe.
Why did you pick Kaffe 1668 today?
I love that they have the fresh juices. I'm a big health person at times. I like the vibe, the music. It's really cozy. The only problem-which sometimes is not a problem-is that theres no Wifi, so you really just have time to think.
What's your order?
It's always black coffee with almond milk.
What's on the radar for Bib + Tuck?
We're actually releasing a functionality so people can cash out and make money. We recently launched an app, and we're working on some really creative brand partnerships.
