News Anchor Robin Roberts returned Wednesday February 20, 2013 to Good Morning America after almost six months away on medical leave. The anchor had to receive a bone marrow transplant to treat a rare blood disorder, and was sorely missed while she was gone.
Robin returned bright eyed and glowing in a blue v-neck shift dress, and though it was clear she's still recovering from a serious illness (the other anchors refrained from high-fives and hugs as they understand her immune system is still weak), the mood was kept very light. Even the President and First Lady sent in a short clip to welcome the anchor, in President Obama's words, "back doing what [she does] best."
The bright blue dress Robin wore was perfect for a fresh start: the fun, happy color was a great way to say "I'm feeling better."
Robin expressed her overwhelming feelings of love, saying that "faith, family and friends have brought me to this moment, and I am so full of gratitude. I share this morning, this day of celebration, with everyone." We can't wait to see more of Robin on our TV's every morning, and we know you feel the same! She's told us she'll be around for Oscars coverage this weekend - and we just know she'll look fabulous!
