Well, the Globes are off to an adventurous start! Earlier tonight a sprinkler broke above the red carpet, flooding it with over 5,000 gallons of water. Video teams and reporters weren't allowed anywhere near the carpet as teams worked tirelessly to clean up the spill.

E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos snapped a picture of the mess, which teams with huge vacuums proceeded to clean furiously before the stars arrive:
According to USA Today, "An HMI light was placed too close to a heat sensor, which caused the sprinkler system to trip." Fire crews were there to help with the clean up, and parts of the red carpet were also being cut out and replaced. Ryan Seacrest also joked that it "could be bad for long gowns..."
Not exactly how everyone wanted the evening to start, but it looks like the team behind Hollywood's biggest party was very well prepared!
