Fashion Week Will Come and Go and I'll Have a Clear Head -- Here's How

HuffPost Social Reading

Fashionista's in NYC are notoriously polished, well dressed and beautiful. I love that "industry" parties are always chock full of people who are dressed to impress and looking fresh. While for some, that may equate to loads of pressure, I'm kind of a big girly girl when it comes to hair and makeup and I love getting all glammed up for parties and events. However, as some of you may know, I'm a very pregnant gal about town these days. During the first few months of my pregnancy, my personal fitness took a backseat to getting my work done and squeezing in some time to relax and recover while I figured out the best way to stay in shape and keep myself fit during my pregnancy. Taking care of your body is so essential because healthy living never goes out of style... even when you're 6 months pregnant and absolutely exhausted from navigating a crazy long day at work. That said, I started to feel a little stress about how I was going to make it all work, until I found Latham Thomas of Tender Shoots Wellness who literally turned my health and fitness world around!

In preparation for my upcoming Fashion Week appearances, I got in touch with Tender Shoots Wellness to hit me up and keep me feeling and looking my very best. Latham stepped up the plate to enrich my life during my pregnancy by empowering me with the knowledge about nutrition to keep me on track. She also opened my eyes to the absolutely wonderful world of pre-natal yoga. The idea of pre-natal yoga is so exciting to me because it not only promotes physical wellness and keeps your body looking tight and feeling light but it also provides me with a few hours a week of quiet relaxation. Yes please! My personal favorite element of Latham's practice is that they offer at-home, private lessons that end in amazing pre-natal aromatherapy massages. Yes, at-home! I mean, she had me at hello. I've heard there are also some really amazing pre-natal yoga studios throughout the city that offer gorgeous settings and fabulous teachers, but, I'm all about bringing the relaxation to me. Let's be honest, it just makes it a little easier. Latham also brings super delicious herbal teas with her and gives out some great techniques for stress management. This woman is a saint!

For me, feeling good is just as important as looking good. Thanks to my new discovery, I know this Fashion Week will come and go and I'll have a clear head, great posture and be super limber -- plus I'll be ready for my close up on the step and repeat.
