Greetings, StyleListers!

Marissa Gold, Celebrity Style Editor here, reporting live from the Jimmy Choo for H&M VIP launch in NYC.

The Fifth Avenue store was closed to the public tonight so that a select group of editors (and friends of editors) could be the first to shop the new collection.

The action was tense, but civilized, as fashionistas sat on any flat surface they could find to try on the Choos.

Most of the heels were $99 and up, but accessories like belts and wallets weighed in a little cheaper.

Michelle Tractenberg of "Gossip Girl" shopped the selection while wearing the pair shown here in black.

While the first floor was crowded with Choo fans juggling shoe boxes with glasses of wine and hors d'ouevres (which were delicious, by the way), the rest of the store was nearly empty.

And it's a shame, because everything else was secretly on sale for 25% off, an employee told us.

We came expecting to buy one thing, and ended up spending a grand total of $379.35. (That translates to two pairs of shoes and two shirts in Choo land).

As for the quality, the shoes are relatively lightweight and the footbeds aren't padded, but this isn't the designer's full-priced line, which is the point, after all.

If you're a Choo fan looking for an affordable piece of the rock, you've found your sole mate. If you're a shoe purist who won't settle for less, you may want to save up for the real deal.

Expect a zoo Saturday (Nov. 14) when the store opens up to the public (read: get in line early and be ready to grab your goods.)

The December issue of Vogue finds Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett as its stunning cover girl, and instead of flaunting her edgy fashion prowess, the Aussie star takes a more theatrical approach to the Annie Leibovitz-photographed cover and inside fashion spread.

Going hand-in-hand with Blanchett's upcoming role as the fiery Blanche DuBois in Tennessee Williams' famed play "A Streetcar Named Desire," opening in Brooklyn, NY, the Leibovitz shoot finds the stunning 40-year-old actress draped across the stage and lounging front row in dazzling dresses by Valentino and Oscar de la Renta, accessorized by a colorful and flamboyant troupe of actors.

"There are so few experiences in our manicured, nanny-stated existence that have the quality of circus. Theater still does," Blanchett tells Vogue writer Adam Green, adding that her children love to play around backstage at the Sydney Theatre Company, which she and her husband recently took over.

"They're always engaged in the family business, so to speak," she says.

Savannah Miller is tall, gorgeous, passionate about fashion and half of design duo Twenty8Twelve. Her counterpart? Sister Sienna, maybe you've heard the name?

Ya know, Jude Law's ex, Vogue cover model and current Broadway actress.

After an intimate champagne-filled dinner at the Royalton Hotel in NYC, StyleList had a chance to catch up with the chic siblings to discuss the brand's Summer 2010 collection.

"We wanted to capture the heat of summer," Savannah told us. "We dip-dyed some garments in bleach to make them look sun-washed, chose washed-out linen as one of our main fabrics and kept the whole look deconstructed. Picture Kate Moss in Ibizia -- it has that kind of vibe," she explained.

Every piece in the line evokes that summery feeling -- lounging in a hammock somewhere breezy, quiet and salty.

Just like their previous collections, the pieces for summer are classic with a twist: a double-breasted organza jacket is sheer so that the shoulder pads show through, while a white T-shirt is festooned with small buttons to make the seams fall off-kilter.

"That's what makes it cool and unique," Savannah says. And we couldn't agree more.

Listen up Kate Moss groupies: the svelte and stylish stunner is rapidly expanding!

As we reported this summer, Moss has created her third fragrance with Coty - a delicious and fruity floral called "Vintage."

And in today's issue of WWD, the beauty reveals she is now a full-fledged business tycoon. Aside from her fragrances, Moss also designs a fashion line with Topshop, collaborates with hairstylist James Brown on a haircare brand, and continues to model for luxury brands like Yves Saint Laurent and Longchamp.

Next up? Moss and Coty are talking about a potential collection for makeup brand Rimmel, of whose campaign ads Moss already graces.

"It's fun for me," said Moss. "I still model, and I enjoy doing that, as well. Working on the creative process is really interesting for me because I do know what I like, so it's fun for me to realize that it becomes part of you. It's not just putting your name on something; it's about being very involved in it."

And Moss's personal identity is deeply involved in her newest scent - right down to the packaging.

"I couldn't really afford designer clothes when I was young, so I just went to secondhand shops. It wasn't called vintage then, it was called 'secondhand' when I was 15," says Moss.

Of the ad campaign that features her against a mirror background that mimics the fragrance bottle design, Moss adds, "The imagery is modern, but it's vintage. Everything I'm wearing, apart from maybe the shoes, is vintage."

Only sold in Europe at the moment, Vintage is available as an eau de toilette, with a price range of about $23-$53 at the current exchange rate.

Cindy Crawford has had quite the scare.

The supermodel and her husband Rande Gerber have been targeted for extortion by a German male model who allegedly demanded $100,000 in exchange for a photo taken of the couple's eight-year-old daughter Kaia, which showed her bound and gagged, the Daily Mail reports.

Kaia's nanny claims she took the photo as a "prank" during a game of "cops and robbers," according to the paper.

Officials reportedly believe that the nanny's former friend, male model Edis Kayalar, who has been deported to Germany and charged with one count of extortion, took the photo from her home, and contacted Crawford and Gerber as early as July demanding money in exchange for the photo, the source says.

The 26-year-old male model allegedly threatened to release the photo to the media if he was not paid.

Gerber, a prominent nightlife entrepreneur, initially met with Kayalar and paid him $1,000 in exchange for the photo and a "prank" note written by the nanny that read, "The babysitter went crazy and tied everyone up and they need your help! Please.," explains the Daily Mail.

But Kayalar is accused of supposedly contacting the family again on Nov. 1, saying that he wanted more money for another copy of the photo in his possession. The couple then took the matter to the US District Attorney's office, which is working on having Kayalar extradited to the U.S., sources say.

At this time, the nanny has not been charged, according to the Daily Mail, though it has not been reported whether or not she is still employed by the couple, who also have a 10-year-old son, Presley.

Let this be a lesson, would-be crooks: Do not mess with a supermodel!

JCPenney had a tough third quarter.

The Texas-based retailer reported to investors today a 80% drop in earnings per share compared to the same quarter last year.

While the news seems grim, the numbers actually pleasantly surprised investors -- JCPenney was expecting its third-quarter to be worse than reported.

But the department store should see an uplifting holiday season with its "Joy of Giving" campaign, involving the launch of a new Facebook page. Become a fan of the page and enter to win the shopping trip of a lifetime.

It's all about a Choo and it has nothing to do with flu season. It's T-Minus one day and counting until the debut of the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection early Saturday morning.

But we bet only a few out of the hoards of people who'll storm the fast fashion retailer for the lower-priced luxury goods actually know who Jimmy Choo is.

Here you go:
  • Jimmy Choo is a Malaysian designer based in London who studied at the London College of Fashion in the '80s and started selling his own designs in 1986.
  • High profile breaks like a whopping eight pages in Vogue in 1988 and counting Princess Diana as a top customer starting in 1990, catapulted this designer to the top of the shoe heap.
  • In 1996, the fabulous Tamara Mellon and Choo founded Jimmy Choo Ltd., which quickly became a household name after Carrie was robbed of her "Choos" on "Sex and the City."
  • Choo sold his stake in 2001 for £10 million British (now that's a lot of shoes), but still designs the Jimmy Choo Couture line under a license from Mellon's Jimmy Choo.
So listen up: If you want to plan on grabbing some of the special Choo for H&M designs, we advise getting there waaay early. Designer goods at H&M frequently sell out in a heartbeat, and we suspect this collection, featuring crystals, studs and animal prints, is going to go in about half a heartbeat.

There will be belts, evening bags and day totes, chokers, bracelets and cuffs.

Jimmy Choo shoes usually go in the range of, oh, $700-$1,100. This line is expected to be priced around $200-$400. Not exactly Christian Siriano for Payless prices, but who's complaining?

We advise wearing sneakers -- NOT stilettos -- so you can sprint for the goods.

We know we are not the only ones excited about Choo's upcoming collaboration with H&M; the collection's launch in L.A was a star-studded event.

At a sleek New York City downtown loft last night, makeup maestro Francois Nars launched 15x15 , an oversized coffee table book featuring artsy portraits of his favorite fashion friends -- such as Marc Jacobs , Olivier Theyskens and Shalom Harlow -- inspired by beauty's most iconic moments and star NARS products.

Created to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the edgy beauty brand, only a super limited 1500 copies of the book are printed, but you can purchase the stunning fashion portraits and other artwork created by the celebs on the website, 15x15Project.com, which launched last night and runs live until December 12th.

The most amazing part? 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the 15 chosen charities of the highlighted celebs.

At the stylish soiree, Jacobs proved that real men can wear skirts (or kilts, to be exact), as he showed up in a black, knee-length number that looked great next to his partner Lorenzo Martone's two tone jeans.

Transsexual queen Amanda Lepore glittered in a clingy Marilyn Monroe-esque gown with matching crystallized Louboutin heels.

Not to be outdone, Francois Nars arrived with his socialite muse Daphne Guinness, who teetered in Alexander McQueen fantasy ballet heels and a whimsical fairy outfit straight out of the pages of a costume photo shoot. Also in tow was Nars' 13-year old French bulldog, Marcel.

"I want to show that you can play with makeup!" says Nars.

So what NARS products do the celebs like to play with most? While Lepore opts for Jungle Red Lipstick because "red is the classic shade of glamour," supermodel Amber Valletta prefers the nude beige Belle de Jour Lipstick since it's "effortlessly chic."

Not only is Alexander Wang a favorite among fashion editors and A-listers alike, but now the designer has received international honors, winning the Swiss Textiles Award.

Upon taking the stage, Wang was visibly shaking and mentioned that his whole team deserved the recognition, reports Grazia UK.

The coveted annual award, worth a whopping €100,000 (roughly $150,000), is handed out to a talented young designer each year. Past winners include Halston designer Marios Schwab (2007) and Rodarte (2008).

This year, Wang beat out some tough competition including Michelle Obama favorite Thakoon, budding French couture star Alexis Mabille and UK-based line Erdem.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Wang told the magazine, "There's always more to do! I can do so much more with my business now -- I'm very lucky."

Luck may be part of it, but talent is talent!

The young designer also recently became a member of this prestigious fashion organization.

With $9000 and several months to design, Carol Whitfield Hannah, Irina Shabayeva, and Althea Harper head off to their respective homes charged with creating a 12-look collection to be shown at the tents in Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week. And with that, the "Project Runway" Finale, Part 1 begins.

Tim Gunn pays a visit to each of the three finalists and also dines with their families.

First Gunn heads to Huntington, Long Island, NY, where Hannah has set up studio in a friend's large house. Hannah's collection is very glam and evening-oriented, as one would expect. Gunn has the usual precautions about keeping the looks young, not matronly, and then has a Southern meal with Hannah's family members, who have flown in for the event.

From there, he heads to New York City's Upper East Side to visit Shabayeva's small studio. She has a very sophisticated, but very dark collection that is inspired by childhood memories of Coney Island and NYC, only to discover that the vintage images she is using are trademarked and she must rethink her collection with less than 10 days to go).

Tim dines with her family and it's easy to see where Shabayeva gets her drive and determination.

Next stop, Dayton, OH, where Harper is ensconced in her workroom loft. Again, Gunn is on matronly patrol and cautions Althea against frumping it up. Later they journey to her parents' home to gather with her friends, boyfriend and family.

Spanish fashion line MANGO presented its Spring/Summer 2010 men's and women's collections last night in Madrid, and actress Scarlett Johansson made the trip to take in the show from the front row.

Well, of course she did: The aspiring singer with an upcoming Broadway gig is the face of the brand, after all, starring in ads shot by celebrated photographer Mario Sorrenti.

Also at the show was Dree Hemingway, star of the MANGO catalog for the coming season.

Johansson revealed that her must-haves are jeans and T-shirts in a MANGO release.

"I normally wear flat-soled shoes, because I live in New York and you walk a lot there, although I love heels," she says. "I have so many pairs: they are my favorite accessory. For traveling, I usually wear versatile garments, blazers, boots, especially in black. For me, the main thing is to feel comfortable with myself."

As we previously reported, the highly anticipated Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is quickly approaching, and behind closed doors the lingerie powerhouse is finalizing its model lineup.

Three of the top VS Angels, Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima and Heidi Klum will not be walking the runway this year due to recent or current baby bumps. However, Klum is set to host the show.

Without these three sexy supermodel regulars, pressure is on to fill the coveted spots.

And apparently, one is now taken -- Liu Wen will reportedly strut her (skivvy-clad) stuff as the first Asian model to appear in a Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, according to Modelinia.

Accompanying Wen on the catwalk will be the five fresh models VS is focusing on (and possibly naming as new Angels), including Chanel Iman, who will be featured prominently in the show and is already starring in ads for the company.

Country music and fashion darling Taylor Swift goes for the gold on InStyle's upcoming December cover, which hits newsstands Friday, Nov. 20.

Clad in a festive frock by Oscar de la Renta paired with bright red lips and her signature blonde locks, Swift dazzles as the magazine's holiday cover girl.

And in a fashion magazine first, the singer is in 3-D. WWD reports that when readers hold the magazine cover up to their Web cams they will see "Swift spring to life surrounded by snowflakes in a 45-second video that ends when she signs her autograph across the screen." The 19-year-old singer is already in the spotlight after the CMA Awards, where she stunned in a strapless gold sequin gown with tulle skirt by Reem Acra.

For her CMA performance, Swift kept with the shine theme, opting for sequin "Walk the Walk" LaROK leggings, kimono-sleeve Antik Batik tunic and "Fargo" boots by Everybody.

Winning awards for album of the year, female vocalist and music video, Swift is also the youngest person ever to be named CMA Entertainer of the Year.

J. Crew's creative director Jenna Lyons pulls back the curtain on the November catalog and we're giving you a front-row seat.

As with ballroom dancing or the perfect omelet, a lot of work goes into making the final product look effortless. While J. Crew's catalog images often suggest an easy, spontaneous chic, the photo shoots and styling are planned down to the tiniest detail.

Take November cover girl Erin Wasson, for instance. Lyons described their work as a natural fit, since model Wasson's nonchalant, slightly tomboyish style meshed with J. Crew's direction.

"She's not going to wear an anorak with a flower on it," Lyons said; instead, they recruited a few menswear items. Riffing on Wasson's distinctive look, each rolled-up cuff and scrunched sock was carefully choreographed prior to the shoot.

And some real-life quandaries led to some of the season's new products.

When several J. Crew staffers found themselves torn between entrenched high-heel habits and the need for comfort, they developed a subtle solution. "We all want to wear high heels all day but we can't!," exclaimed Lyons. "What does a platform look like for a girl who feels like it's a little too forward?"

Enter the Marlene suede pump with hidden platform. The quarter-inch platform leaves you three inches to go -- but as every woman knows, every little bit helps. "Once you try it, you never go back," Lyons says. More Marlenes are due out for Spring 2010.

New York City is all a-Twitter about the opening of its first Costco Warehouse Shopping Club on East 116th Street.

But aside from mayo large enough to dress every sandwich in Manhattan, there's another (and more important) reason to flock to Costco -- Chanel and Louis Vuitton handbags!

The new location currently has Chanel Classic Flap handbags available for $1,999, though the salesperson, a man, was not sure what sizes were available (baby, small, medium, large or jumbo). These regularly sell anywhere from $1,795 to $2.495.

However, he did say that earlier today they sold out of Louis Vuitton Speedy bags, regularly priced from $665 to more than $3,000, all three going for $589 a pop. But there are currently "a lot" of Burberry and Coach bags, he said.

So, what else is in stock? Burberry's mini satchel for $1,019.99, Tod's medium shopper handbag for $549.99 and a Ferragamo "Marissa" handbag for $629.99.

Just getting access to these deals make the $50 membership fee seem like chump change.

Reps from Chanel and Louis Vuitton did not return calls for comment.

Designers who show in Paris have always been considered among the most avant garde in the world, but China Fashion Week took it to a new level recently with its kooky creations that included a polka dotted body suit affixed with clocks, a comic book-esque checkered jumpsuit with cat ears and paws, and colorful Harajuku girl-inspired ensembles (replete with stuffed animals of course). There was also a smattering of walking metal art sculptures and candy colored confections with matching tights!

But while the designs tended to skew more funny than fabulous, not all was lost. There was a nod to the ever-so-prominent military trend (this is a communist country after all) and edgier silhouettes emerged with the sculpted shoulder jackets (a la Balmain).
