Spring Jeans

What's the hottest denim trend for spring? You decide! It's all about variety this season, which means you'll see dressy wide legs, skinny silhouettes and high-waisted trousers, all in a broad array of shades, from classic dark navy to brights like yellow and red. StyleList found the best of the new crop, plus tips on which ones will look best on you.

Trousers
These flattering trouser-style jeans are ideal for concealing full hips and thighs -- just make sure to choose the right footwear. "You need to wear a high heel to give you that elongation of the silhouette," advises Henri Bendel fashion director Ann Watson. Banana Republic Medium Wash Palazzo Jean. $98, www.bananarepublic.comBANANA REPUBLIC Jeans

Capri
The freshest way to pull off the still-popular skinny jean is to wear them Capri length with flats. These Sevens are ideal for the smaller-framed, so if you've got a fuller figure, make sure to pair them with a long, loose top or tunic. Seven Edie Flood Jeans. $154, www.shopbop.com
Colors
If you're looking for jeans that scream spring, go for the new bright colors, which echo the hues that prevailed on the fall runways. To complete the look, pair them with a top in different, equally vibrant color. "Color is non-stop this season," says Henri Bendel's Ann Watson. Madewell Zip Crop Garment Dye Denim Jeans. $92, www.madewell1937.com
Dark Wash
If you're choosing just one pair of jeans this spring, make them dark denim. "The dark color gives you the option to wear your jeans with anything," explains Barneys New York CO-OP denim specialist Erlens Vital. "It gives you versatility, and you can dress it up." Jovovich-Hawk for Target. $35, www.target.com
Pencil Skirt
"A fitted, slim skirt is a nice look for spring," says Barneys New York CO-OP denim specialist Erlens Vital. "Knee length is perfect -- you can wear it with everything." Whether you're 25 or 45, this skirt looks as good dressed up with heels and a blouse for evening as it does with flats or flip-flops on the weekend. Converse One Star Denim Skirt. $27, www.target.com
High Waist
High-waisted jeans were a major trend for fall, and you'll see them again, but in lighter colors, this spring. The cut is ideal for curvy figures, since it accentuates the waist. Wear this decidedly grown-up look with a narrow, fitted top and a belt. Citizens of Humanity Hutton High Rise Wide Leg Jeans. $167, www.shopbop.com
All-in-One
These Marc by Marc Jacobs jeans incorporate several of this season's key trends -- a high waistline, full leg and colored denim, but in subtle doses that make it easy for any body type to pull off. Marc by Marc Jacobs Brooke Jeans. $198, www.barneys.comMarc Jacobs Jeans

Retro
These Old Navy wide legs (slung lower than many of this season's cuts) are a good option for ladies with a thicker middle. Although they have a lower inseam than the high-waisted styles you've seen here, fear not: there's no threat of the "muffin tops" created by the super low rise cuts of past seasons. Old Navy Diva Patch Pocket Jeans. $34.50, www.oldnavy.com
Short and Dark
We're going to be honest. If you're over 30 and don't want to look like Britney Spears, make sure to pair this dark denim mini with opaque leggings (bright pink or orange are trendiest) and a great pair of flats. American Eagle Tab Front Denim Mini. $39.50, www.ae.com

If one does not learn from the past, one is doomed to repeat it. Can we say 1970"s? Do these fashion experts never come up with anything New? And for this they get paid big bucks. Whatever Dude!

Is it just me, or do the new, "must have," Marc Jacob's Brooke Jeans (hike 'em up to your boobs design)strongly resemble the "wedgie look," inspired by PEE WEE HERMAN in the 80's?
( These, NOT resembling ,in the least, the UK, corset jeans we can't find over here. ...More like a denim version of Grannie Pants!
Hey Marc!!!
Lets see YOU, hike some super tight jeans up between your balls, throw on a tank top and stilettos and see how YOU look and feel!!!!!
So HOT?? I think, SOoooo NOT!!!!!
( Although, I bet someone's Grandma might like them}...Not BUY, though .

The first pair was really cute, the one with the caption "High waist" confused me (and that pair's cute too) -they don't even come up to your belly button and are considered high?
The ones in vivid color were ugly, and the booty shorts are so trashy!

It's about freakin time low rise jeans get out of here. I'm tired of seeing pudgy guts hanging over the fronts and sides of these stupid things. I'm also tired of looking down someone's rear when they sit and they aren't wearing a shirt long enough to cover it up! Talk about the plumber look!! UGH! I'm also glad the wide legs are leaving. They make your legs look crooked - opposite of bow legged. Whoever brought them back obviously did not live in the 70's.

One Jean. $98, another for. $154, a Dye Jeans. $92, a High Rise Wide Leg Jeans. $167, and another pair of for Jeans. $198; have these people gone insane? What the gas I need to go buy them? FORGET IT! NO DESIGNER WILL EVER PUSH TO BUY THEM. I RATHER GO TO 'ROSS DRESS FOR LESS, THEY BETTER SELECTION AND CHEAP TOO; OR TRY TARGET. HA!

In my opinion, the low rise jeans are more flattering, I like to be able to see that i have a bootie, the high waisted just makes you look flat in the back, even when you're not. High waisted jeans are great for a size 0, 5"9 model, who wants to look like a hanger with a pair of pants on it, but anyone with an actual body it looks much more flattering in the low rise.
Whoever said if we don't buy them, they wont make them, had a good point.... anyway who wants to sit down and have the top of your pants poking you in the belly button after 10 years of nice comfortable low rise pants? .
