When I launched my line in 2003, I was just nineteen. And though much has changed since then, much has remained the same. My signature style, best described as a refined, subtle take on classic American sportswear, with the undeniable influence of my California upbringing, remains. Nothing complicated -- just super-chic, easy to wear clothes.
As mentioned, some things do change, and these days, I try to bring that same design sensibility into my cherished roles as mother and homemaker. My son Tanner, 5, and daughter Ripley Jewel, 2, serve as the best kind of influence and inspiration. I am forever searching for items and advice that will allow me to be the best and chicest mom and wife that I can be.
It’s a busy, beautiful existence, and I wouldn’t trade it for a minute.
Happily, the results of all this searching have found a place, not just in my home, but also in my daily blog, Rip+Tan. I love sharing stories and objects of tradition and quality, and showcasing beautiful and stylish things that, like my kids, will only get better with age.
My progression from solely a fashion brand into one that encompasses a complete lifestyle has been a natural one – and one that I embrace. I recently opened my first Jenni Kayne Home in Montecito and am so excited to explore all of the amazing possibilities that lie ahead.
