AVOID: All Black
We’ve all been guilty of settling into an all-black wardrobe in winter, but don’t let that come with you into spring!

CHOOSE: Black and White
A huge trend this spring is contrasting colors: black and white! Choose a dress like Blake Lively’s for your next dinner party.

Recycle your black pieces by pairing them with white: recreate Jessica Chastain’s look for a perfect office outfit.

AVOID: Letting Your Outfit Look Like a Crayola Box
We understand the excitement of breaking out all of your bright clothes for spring, but try not to wear them all on the same day!

CHOOSE: Neutral Pieces to Tone the Color Down
By wearing a neutral top, Jessica Alba keeps a skirt this colorful from being too overwhelming!

CHOOSE: Just a Few Colors
By going with these two bright solids, Pippa Middleton looks fun without being too funky.

AVOID: Too Much of One Print
Are you madly in love with stripes? How about leopard? That’s great, but don’t allow yourself to buy more than a few pieces of your beloved print. To much is not appealing to the eye, and it’s important to keep variety in your wardrobe.

CHOOSE: Mixed Prints
When you have a variety of prints in your wardrobe, you can wear them tons of interesting ways. We love Olivia Palermo’s look, patterned from her shirt to her shoes!

CHOOSE: Mixed Prints
Emma Watson shows a little bit of an edge in this look, amping up the sweet patterns with a leather jacket and bold makeup. We’re loving the variety!

AVOID: Dark Nails
Dark nails are great for winter – but you must ditch them when the sun starts shining! Don’t forget your nails are a great form of expression – and accessory – and you should use them to their brightest extent.

CHOOSE: Bright Nails
Blues and greens are very in right now, and we’re loving this aquamarine color on AnnaLynne McCord.

CHOOSE: Bright Nails
Whatever shade you prefer, it’s fun to switch it up based on your mood or your outfit. Zooey Deschanel is never shy with her nails, and spring and summer are the times of year when you can go wild!

AVOID: Trendy Outfits in the Office
Just because you saw lots of sheer and cut-out dresses on the runway doesn’t necessarily mean those looks are appropriate for the office. If you must, choose a classic version, and rock your trendier pieces on the weekends!

CHOOSE: A Classic Silhouette with a Hint of the Trend
Well maybe we wouldn’t choose a cape for the office, but notice how you can get a bit of that sheer trend in with this dress, but still keep it conservative enough for the office.

CHOOSE: A Classic Silhouette with a Hint of the Trend
Camilla Belle wore this cut-out dress with grace, and we love that it’s not in your face, but has that pop of color underneath the navy. Throw on a blazer, and this would be great for work.

AVOID: Deep-Diving into a Trend Just Because it Went Down the Runway
Now we don’t know about you, but we don’t really have an occasion in our upcoming calendars in which a leather dress would be necessary, but we do love the leather trend. Just be sure to make it work for your lifestyle.

-
CHOOSE: A Leather Skirt
Skirts such as Laura Haddock’s are a great way to introduce some leather into your wardrobe, and keep up with the trend!

-
CHOOSE: A Leather Jacket
We ALL need a great leather (or pleather!) jacket – a piece that will fit into everyone’s life, keeping you stylish and comfortable.

-
AVOID: Too Much Pastel
We love pastels as much as the next girl, but wearing too many shades runs the risk of making you look like an Easter egg!

-
CHOOSE: Bright Colors
Bright colors and neon shades were on just about every runway this year, and are a perfect pop of color to add to an outfit, like Pippa Middleton’s hot pink jeans.

CHOOSE: Bright Colors
We’re in love with this pink and red dress worn by Emma Stone, and its bright shades are perfect for spring.

AVOID: Super Short Shorts
Don’t jump the gun with summer shorts – it’s not quite the weather out for those super short shorts, yet!

CHOOSE: Fun, Spring-y Shorts
These floral shorts on Olivia Palermo are lovely and fun – and great for springtime.

CHOOSE: Elegant Shorts
It’s not time yet for cutoffs (those are only acceptable on the beach) – though you may be ready to bare those legs. Choose to do so like Nina Dobrev.

AVOID: Wearing Winter Coats in Spring
If it’s warm enough to be wearing shorts, you shouldn’t need a long or oversized coat. (And vice versa!)

-
CHOOSE: A Leather Jacket
Leather Jackets are perfect for the transition into spring, when you need a little more warmth, but nothing too bulky.
