Simple, but chic. That was the description being passed around backstage at Thursday's BCBG Max Azria show.

The look, created by Val Garland for Sephora Pro, was meant to resemble "real skin" that is "effortlessly chic" and concealed under a "veil of perfection."

To start, Garland used Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation and Marc Jacobs Beauty Perfection Powder Featherweight Foundation, to achieve a peachy, polished finish.

Afterwards, Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Bronze Perfect Tan in Tantric and Josie Maran Argan Illumizer were used to achieve a natural, bronze flush. According to Garland, one should use two shades of foundation- one that matches your skin, and one slightly darker- to achieve the most natural-looking contouring. Finish with a light pat of glossing cream on cheekbones to highlight the bone structure.

For the eyes, Garland used a big, fluffy brush to apply a wash of bronzer across the eyes that will add definition without using a shadow. Tarte EmphasEYES Inner Rim Brighter was then applied to the inside of the eye line. Using three different mascara ones, Buxom Sculpted Lash Mascara in True Black was then applied to both top and bottom lashes.

With a firm fan brush, Garland then further extended the mascara closer to the lash line, creating the allusion of fuller, thicker lashes.

On the lips, Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in Nude NO. 5- a creamy chubby pencil- was applied to the lips along with Sephora Collection Retractable Waterproof Lip Liner in 01 Nude.

The result: easy to wear, light-from-within beauty perfect for year-round wear!
