Reese Witherspoon, alongside Penelope Cruz, Melissa McCarthy and Shailene Woodley were honored at Elle magazine's 20th annual "Women in Hollywood" event, which honors women who have made extraordinary contributions to the film industry. Never one to disappoint at the box office or on red carpet, Reese sported a sexy red strapless Calvin Klein dress and opted for an easy, loose chignon.

I wanted to create a "chic, clean and effortless side-swept updo," said hairstylist Adir Abergel. Below, Adir explains how created the look:

"I first started out by parting the hair into a deep side part and followed by applying a volumizer on the roots, like Maximista by Oribe. I then took a large round brush and blow-dried the hair smooth with volume. Once the hair was smooth and shiny, I took a large barrel iron and lightly waved the hair to give it some movement. I then applied some Kusko Murphy Lavender Cream to create separation. After applying the finishing cream, I took the hair and pulled it into a low, deconstructed chignon, making sure the front side part was loose and sweeping over. To finish the look, I used Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray."
