The annual ceremony, made up of more than 600 guardsmen and cavalry, is believed to have first been performed during the reign of King Charles II. The parade marked the official birthday of the Sovereign, even though the Queen's actual birthday is on April 21st.

January 9th, 2013 is Kate Middleton's 31st birthday, and we couldn't be more excited to send our love to our favorite royal fashionista!
We've seen extravagant royal birthday celebrations before, but we expect Kate will ring in her 31st year with a small gathering of her closest friends and family. According to numerous sources, Prince William's gift to Kate will be a family vacation home for the duo and their future son or daughter.
