When we dream about a closet like Carrie Bradshaw's, right next to her Jimmy Choo and Louboutin heels hangs a gorgeous black leather CHANEL bag. An iconic brand beloved by women all over the world, it was founded by Gabrielle Chanel (who earned her nickname "Coco" after a brief career as a singer!) Luckily for us, young Coco would abandon singing to tackle - and conquer - the fashion world.

Ms. Chanel opened her first shop in 1910 in Paris, where she created hats that were adored by the most famous French actresses of the time. Her simple and elegant designs swept Paris off its feet, and she soon opened clothing boutiques that were wildly successful. Her clothing changed women's lives forever, because she felt that "luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it's not luxury." In other words: see you later, corsets! She is famous for her legendary suits and creating the LBD. How women ever survived without a "Little Black Dress" in their closet, before Chanel brought black out of mourning and into the mainstream, is beyond us!

In 1955 Coco Chanel created her famous quilted leather 2.55 Bag (named after February 1955, its date of creation), a CHANEL symbol to this day. Iconic as ever, they feature elegant adjustable-length chain straps and are worn by fashion lovers everywhere. Created in multiple sizes, these highly coveted bags are perfect for the classic woman on the go.

CHANEL is thriving as a fashion powerhouse, with Karl Lagerfeld as Artistic Director overseeing all design for CHANEL Fashion's Couture, Ready-to-Wear and Accessories lines. Stars such as Kiera Knightly, Diane Krueger and Emma Stone just can't get enough of the brand. Probably because CHANEL clothing still has timeless silhouettes and impeccable design, keeping the true essence of Ms. Coco Chanel intact.
