Karl Lagerfeld certainly knows how to get the fashion crowd talking. Last season it was all about those massive hula hoop bags and this season it was all about, well, the world. As in the massive several-stories high, rotating globe that Lagerfeld made the centerpiece of the show.

According to Elle UK, the globe was stamped with flags, marking Chanel store locations. "It's about the globalization of fashion," said Lagerfeld, who after all is never one for subtlety. "I wanted a global look, not a French look."

He told the AFP, the globe also symbolized Chanel's history and growth from a French house to a global company. "It's very simple. One hundred years ago Chanel opened its first boutique at Deauville, today 100 years after there are 300."

Lagerfeld may have wanted to get the fashion pack thinking about global fashion–and he did. But he also got them to make a whole lot of (sometimes pretty corny) puns. Let's take a gander at some of the best punny tweets fashion's elite was sending this morning.
