Their Royal Highnesses Duchess Kate and Prince William are expecting their second child! The announcement was confirmed early this morning, after Kate had to pull out of a few engagements, sparking rumors. The Duchess is being treated once more for extreme morning sickness, or Hyperemesis Gravidarum, as she did while pregnant with Prince George. The palace stated that after having to remove herself from today's engagement, "the Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace."
Clarence House confirmed the news via twitter and in a Press Release:

Major, MAJOR congratulations are in order for the royal family. Sending our love and excitement to Kate and William, and hoping that she feels better very soon. Kate was rumored to have eaten lavender cookies last time around to help calm her sickness, and our friends at Kitchen Daily have found 10 other remedies to soothe morning sickness.
Following the announcement, Prince William attended the event the couple had scheduled for the day, opening a new Dickson Poon University of Oxford China Centre in Oxford.
He was beaming as well-wishers congratulated him on the exciting news. He said that it's been a tricky few days -- a week or so -- for Kate, but that they are "thrilled." William also revealed that it's the early days of the pregnancy, so there's no birth month announcement yet. Many are speculating that we can expect an April 2015 birthday for the next royal baby.
"We're hoping just things settle down and she feels a bit better," William said. Upon leaving the event, the Duke thanked well-wishers again and said of his wife, "I'm going to go look after her now." So sweet!
