Kate Middleton's Baby Shower Will Be a Royal First
Diana may have been the People's Princess, but Kate is definitely the Princess willing to push the boundaries. She made it known early on that she would break tradition in how her baby was raised -- saying that she stood firm in having her own family deeply involved -- and has decided to move in with her parents for roughly 6 weeks after giving birth.
Now, not so surprisingly (coming from a party-planning family), she will have the first royal baby shower! Pippa is reportedly planning a shower for the pregnant Duchess, likely to be held at their family home in Berkshire. Kate's brother, James, will bake a cake for the event.
Though it isn't a royal tradition, a friend aptly told The Sun "Kate isn't a traditional Royal," and Pippa's plans apparently have the Queen's blessing. Harry, Kate and William are the modern Royals, and they are a key connection for the family to the younger generation. We're sure that Pippa's party-planning skills will make the Queen proud.
We hope Kate is "showered" with lots of adorable clothing, books and toys (perhaps in the light blue variety...?) It's refreshing to see her break tradition here and there, don't you think?
