Natasha Richardson's Style Transformation
Actress Natasha Richardson was one of the most loved actresses of her time. When she suddenly passed away after a skiing accident, the world remembered the icon for her incredible work on the stage, as well as on and off the screen. "She was a wonderful woman and actress and treated me like I was her own," Lindsay Lohan told US Weekly after her passing.
Natasha was born into an acting dynasty. The daughter of a director and actress, Natasha grew up in the spotlight. She caught the acting bug at a very early age, and appeared in her father's film, "The Charge of the Light Birgade" at the age of four. Natasha began her official career in theatre, which is a daunting career for any actor. Natasha appeared in the film "Gothic" in 1987, launching her into television and film.
Her emergence in the 80's meant one thing: shoulder pads. She routinely appeared on the red carpet in a chic blazer and skirt, but those shoulder pads were hard to miss. For a more formal event like an award show, Natasha would typically arrive in a strapless gown with a shawl to cover her shoulders. We saw this look several times at high profile events such as the Golden Globes and Academy Awards.
While Natasha's style transformed throughout her career, there is something to be said for the phrase, "better with age." Natasha was one of those actresses that continued to look better and better as she got older. Her radiant beauty and poise were truly admirable. Natasha passed away on March 18, 2009. She would have been 50-years-old today.
