Paris Fashion Week: Back to Schoolgirl This Fall
-
SCHOOL GIRL
Valentino showed prim and proper dresses with lace collars and accompanied by sturdy cross-body bags. We love the collegiate feel for fall, and have a feeling we’ll be taking more than a few pages out of this collection’s book.

PLAID
While Heidi Slimane brought back '90s grunge at Saint Laurent Paris, Phoebe Philo stick with the academic vibe at Celine with gorgeous plaid wool coats and skirts. No matter which feel you prefer, plaid, a perennial autumn print, isn’t going anywhere this fall.

PINSTRIPES
While this particular pattern may conjure up images of stiff work suits, designers like Stella McCartney and Emanuel Ungaro defied the stereotype this season and redefined the pinstripe as a must-have for fall. The thin lines are perfect for skirts, shirts – even jumpsuits!

They say to leave the best for last, and if Paris Fashion Week is any indication, the adage is correct.
Chanel, Valentino, and Stella McCartney were among the many fashion houses displaying their Fall/Winter 2013 collections throughout the week, and we happened to notice that the overall feel of some of our favorite shows was decidedly autumnal and collegiate.
The models at Valentino wore schoolgirls ensembles, complete with lace collars and short hemlines. We also saw some of our favorite fall patterns, including plaid and pinstripes. Our suggestion for outfitting your wardrobe this fall? Think schoolgirl and you won't go wrong. In the meantime, click through the gallery to see our favorite looks from the shows, and get some inspiration for your looks this fall.
