Although the recent mark-down of a $1500 diamond necklace to a mere forty-seven bucks, turned out to be an advertising snafu, there are still fabulous deals to be found at Macy's - and we're here to help. Unless you've been living under a rock, you may have noticed that that the big-box retailer is everywhere these days. In fact, it's hard to find a department store that isn't a Macy's. If you're still bemoaning the loss of your local mom-and-pop chain, or are terrified of a shopping sensory overload at a mega-store, we urge to look on the bright side and consider all the hidden wonders that Macy's has to offer us. With a little digging, we promise it's easy to score more than a few gems.

The secret to shopping at Macy's is actually an entire section of the store called Impulse, which is totally dedicated to contemporary lines like French Connection, Free People and BCBG Max Azria. Aside from the immediately recognizable brands, there's also Bar III, an in-house line targeted at a young, hip market - we spotted a pop-up shop at the legendary Rose Bowl Flea Market in L.A. last summer and have been hooked ever since. Another plus in our book is the RACHEL by Rachel Roy collection, sold exclusively at Macy's. The lower-priced line by one of our favorite designers features clothes, shoes, jewelry, and accessories, all frequently under $100.

Speaking of cheap, the other key to shopping at Macy's just so happens to be sales, sales, and more sales. We don't like to encourage racking up massive credit card debt, but if you can swing it, it's good to get ahold of a piece of Macy's plastic. Card-holders get access to tons of insider sales and discounts every time they shop. It's an easy way to knock 15-25% off your bill - just don't forget to actually pay it!

If you're still feeling overwhelmed, don't be - we've already shopped the store for you! Click through the gallery to see some of our favorite pieces available at Macy's this spring.
